Discovery is generally wide-ranging and not limited to strictly relevant information. Pro-rel is therefore probably fair game.
Some articles to get this thread back on track and provide some background. Analysis: In pursuing injunction, NASL was always playing down a man - Kartik, WST, Sep 2017 NASL thinks American soccer is corrupt, and it’s battling U.S. Soccer for survival in court - SbNation, Feb 2018 USSF: Playing Monopoly or Soccer? - Nick Constantino, Syracuse Law Review, March 2018
You guys ready for a new pyramid? Wonder how long it’ll take for them to realize if they win the lawsuit this new pyramid won’t be a thing? I hear while Miami FC are happy to be members of a sanctioned pro league it is expected they will play Founders Cup in the Fall. Beyond this I hear they are making efforts to encourage NISA, NPSL, UPSL and other indie leagues to align under a new pro, semi-pro and amateur pyramid— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) June 11, 2019
The US soccer pyramid. MLS flanked by USL and NWSL and everything else just scattered around in a desert.
From the second article I posted: During the preliminary injunction hearing, the NASL did not challenge the authority of the USSF to establish divisional tiers or even promulgate standards for professional leagues, both issues potentially subject to antitrust examination. Instead — as Judge Brodie almost cheekily noted — the NASL merely sought to eliminate the PLS it didn’t meet, all under the guise of trying to prove an overarching conspiracy between the USSF, MLS, and even the United Soccer League to crowd the NASL out of the soccer market.
New U.S. Soccer League being unveiled in Newark, N.J. this Friday (June 21st). Not much known. Have confirmed this league will be applying for provisional pro status from #USSF and goal is to be recognized as a "national league," like #NPSL & #USL2, for #USOC. pic.twitter.com/ANssGnGpQ2— Michael Battista (@MichaelBattista) June 17, 2019
The canadians are moving their league?* Why does it seem like Entertainment 720 are producing this nonsense? *Sorry in advance.
For lack of a better place to put this.... “As soon as I asked questions about Soccer United Marketing, I was fired.” (From US Soccer) - @hopesolo from her interview with Daniel Workman.— NonLeagueAmerica (@NonLeagueUSA) June 18, 2019 lol.
Well, that's because "I got fired because I kept saying stupid shit, stole a federation van in the middle of the night to go buy beer with my felon husband, got arrested in a drunken brawl, lied to the cops and insulted Sweden" is too close to the actual truth.
Back when they were bidding for Dillon Stadium, NPSL side Hartford City FC touted a “letter of understanding” to join the NASL circa November 2017. Everyone involved saw right through it. They also signed the petition being touted by “The” Chris Kessell and Daniel Wokerman to implement pro/rel. Next week they play the Revs u-23/practice squad at Gillette. Wonder what they will say to the Revs front office. And, as far as I can tell, the Revs haven’t promoted the match at all.
This isn't NASL San Diego tho.. It's Landon Donovan and Warren Smith (one of the founders for SacRepublic).
