He had this reputation when he'd call games in Spanish too, apparently. He was an interesting pickup by Fox, especially when Univision lost the World Cup, but part of the fun of the way he'd call games in Spanish was his rapid fire delivery (even if per the fluent, it was sometimes ridiculous). He just doesn't quite have the spark in English. Could be worse though, the guy on Univision did a Seven Nation Army GOOOOOOOL call.
I used to do play-by-play on the radio. In answer to your question...YES! You do find yourself asking that question on occasion. That's when you ask them about what they're really talking about during a commercial break. Some people express themselves much better than others, and the home listener can certainly tell the difference.
Turned off the game at about '50 so the wife and I could watch Chernobyl. (I'd subjected her to enough vuvuzela for one night). I now understand some of the references being thrown about in the MNT forums now.
The field in Kingston is looking pretty chewed up. Ought to be fun times for Honduras vs. Jamaica later. El Salvador continues to hang onto a 1-goal lead against Curacao.
Really disappointed in their showing. I was expecting a much better display tonight. Even though they were outscored 6-0 in their group games two years ago, they were a fun team to watch. Tonight...they were on the blasé side.
With this appearance, Leon Bailey officially (in my mind) becomes the second-best player in Concacaf, and also the second-most valuable, per Transfermarkt.
I want to take a second to preempt the "MLS is destroying American soccer" takes when the US inevitably has a shit game by pointing out that this Jamaica team is starting 4 current MLS players and 3 USL players.
