That sucks but the top U23s are mostly all on the senior squad. Not all of these dudes even play consistently (I think only 3-4 are full on starters). Erick Aguirre is a good player but he didn't even play last season for Pachuca. Did anyone watch?
I saw the 2nd half and Mexico looked good offensively after all the subs came in but it was already 4-0. The Mexican defense though looked awful. Terrible coordination against a good dutch team that moved the ball well. The main problem is that this should be Mexico's team for the Olympic qualifiers and that is the tournament with the least spots.

who's the coach of this team? another unknown mediocre mex coach? when i saw them in the France tournament they played recently Sergio de Los Rios from America looked the best talent but wasn't even a starter....marcelo Flores is good but his play screams midfielder yet of course the coach plays him in the wings.

Fun fact, Mexico actually appears in the Captain Tsubasa manga. We end up losing against Japan 2-1 in the Youth World Cup.
Any players of note in that U16 team? Sure, our coaches suck but our recent youth teams haven’t exactly been brimming with talent either.
