It’s crazy how people justify people being screwed over as some sort of right of passage on the way to a better life.

That would be great if both Gloster and Soto landed at PSV.

It would surprise me a little though because neither has an EU passport. I believe the Dutch league raised the salary requirement for non-EU players to close to 400K. That would be a great pay bump for Gloster and Soto... but thats a lot of money for a dutch club to pay two players with pretty limited professional playing experience

I believe it is considerably less for players under 21 (but it's been awhile since I've seen the numbers). It would still be a huge upgrade on their current deals if the numbers being thrown around here are accurate.

    @feyenoordsoccerfan probably knows.

  14. For the coming season the reference Eredivisie salary for non EU players is this:

New salary hurdle of the Eredivisie released.
The player from outside the EU has to earn a minimum of 436,202 (20 yr or older) or 218,000 (18 & 19 YO).

    https://www.ad.nl/nederlands-voetbal/dit-verdient-een-eredivisiespeler-gemiddeld-per-jaar~a2060169/

They're just regurgitating the info from BILD, who is pretty reliable.

  17. According to Bild he got an offer of Hannover that was too low, so the negotiations were "gescheitert".

That 2500/month would be net, in which case that's fairly equivalent to an MLS minimum contract, right?

any transfer rumor is sketchy enough, but one team going in for two of our guys on another? that...doesnt seem likely. that strikes me as a decent tweet to get american ynt followers.

Although, they did just play in the U-20 WC together. Maybe PSV had a scout there that piqued their interest.

This is OT, but really everyone who has a "some young player is better off going to CheapX club for < money, vs. going to ProfligateY club for > money and then being loaned to CheapX club" should just send me all the money they make above minimum wage. Thanks!

On the other hand, I think PSV is too big a jump for him right now. Would rather see him at a potential 5-9 ered club like Heerenveen. The $ is not enough for the risk if it's foreign U minimum and PSV won't be likely to loan him. (if they do loan him, I change my tune - even though I hate the pocket-protector nerdlingers of PSV a lot... but I digress...)

i am all for players going to upper mid table clubs with good track records of playing kids in development oriented leagues. if we are being honest ajax is far better at playing youth than psv?

Both Ajax and PSV of late have been "upgrading" with more established players. Dunno if this deal is happening, but it's a bit risky for a young player without a better track record. Not an insane risk, but could leave him a bit in never-never land. Haven't looked at what PSV has done this summer, but I'd feel better about his playing time prospects a bit lower down the ladder.

  25. Uhm, no. PSV does play youngsters too. Just look at the kids from the Young team that played this season.
You have to be very good though.
