I could have sit with a female friend and her friends but they sat behind the goal. I’m not a big fan of that view. Maybe would have been okay for the second half
It was great for the second half. I was thinking about moving after the first half, then a friends wife said but they will be coming this way second half. Right on. So we stayed. Was a nice view and one I wasn't used to having.
$15 for everyone who shows up without a pass. In previous years, they charged me something like $12 per pass for general lot. It worked out to "special game free." I think B Lot (old East Preferred) was $13 per game. VIP was more expensive, but also grandfathered from way back when unless you got two club seats or select other premium seating where it was included. My ticket was free (really included with my package) and my parking was $15. "$15 for parking and a ticket" wasn't a terrible deal.
Decent night. We didn't look great, but winning is all that matters. Our defense at least looked solid (for as little as they were asked to do). Porter started his best 11. Lets hope he does the same thing next week too. Got my season ticket holder scarves at the game too. Winning is fun. Knowing that we won't have to play Chicago next round is fantastic.

Lots of rain over the past 4 days, and they tried to use sand to mitigate the mud and puddles, but they wound up with muddy sand or something. Late word that they were unable to reschedule for an alternate venue on Wednesday, so who knows when it'll be played.
After watching the US women play in the afternoon I was expecting much more scoring. But it helps to have a forward to do that.I would rather see Williams start than Mullins who should have retired last year. For all the criticism of Trapp, the team moves the ball much better with him present. The Crew are like a machine that is missing some pieces. The wheel turns and then gets to the broken parts and stops working.
Why would you expect more scoring from the Crew because of the USWNT? I don’t see how one has anything to do with the other.
I guess we'll see over the next few matches if Williams can beat Mullins for the backup striker spot as Zardes will be out at the Gold Cup. I tend to agree with you--that Williams will have a greater ceiling with minutes. But, either way, I assume we'll see a bunch of both of them until Gyasi is back.
How did people get passes for VIP? There wasn't a special game pass in my book. I paid the $15 then had to argue to park in my usual spot. I don't think of the ticket as free, just as part of a bundle. They sent one for 116 but it was warm so I sat in the shade at the back of 124.
btw, what the heck were they doing to the parking lots???? I was walking around with stones glued to my shoes.
“Chip and seal”. It’s a cheap paving technique. That stickiness will eventually go away after it’s driven on a bit. I’m originally from southeastern Ohio and you see this a lot in the back roads.

since we're still alive after the 4th round, a reminder of the dates for the rest of the tournament: 5th round - June 18-23 quarterfinals - July 10 semifinals - August 7 final - August 27 or 28 The Crew have a league game on the 23rd, so presumably our USOC game will be on the 18th or 19th. There's a total of 6 games that weekend, but that means 12 teams have the weekend off. If 2 of those 12 MLS teams get drawn together, they could potentially schedule a Saturday USOC game. (If both teams have the weekend off and if the stadium is available and whatever other if's come into play.)
