Who's on gc duty for both teams? Other than Arriola.

C'mon guys, it's The Cup. Five wins and we get a 105-year-old trophy, and games overseas next spring. Let's go for this.

Junior Moreno will also be absent from DCU, since he's on Copa America duty.

Philly will be without Andre Blake, Warren Crevalle, and Marco Fabian for GC duty, (Crevalle is injured as well), and they'll also be without Cory Burke due to visa issues.

Having so many MLS teams play other MLS teams is the worst thing to happen to the USOC ever. I'm having a hard time caring and I LOVE the USOC.

It doesn't make me more interested in the games. I'm missing my first home USOC match in years because of work.

Yeah, the MLS guys should come in sooner and be paired with lower division teams (hosting) wherever possible. 10 of them should be given the option to not participate - I'm sure several would bow out uninterested, hopefully DCU would not be one of them.
It's understandable that as the tournament goes on, it would be MLS-heavy by the end - but there is no excuse for MLS teams playing each other in the first round they participate.
Many of the groups have 3 MLS and one real team - the new format seems to make a non-MLS team getting thru virtually impossible, which takes away some of the fun of the early rounds involving MLS.

As much as people complained about it, it was better when some MLS teams had to have a play-in to enter USOC.

I find it hard to care about the USOC on a macro level regardless of who is playing who.

As a fan of DC United however, I draw more excitement from facing The Union than I would if we had drawn North Carolina FC.

That's weird to me. DC already play them up to 4 times a season. I'd much rather see NCFC.

Are you familiar with them? Or do you just like to see different players/clubs?

I don't watch USL outside of a kickers game here or there and I guess just don't have much interest in learning about the new teams.

The last non DC United USOC game I watched was when FCC made their run a year or two back.

I don't know much about them. I'm just so bored of Philly.

In the past, these games featured the benchwarmers in starting roles. In this case, DCU doesn't have a game in earnest for two weeks. Does Olsen start a squad full of starters? Or does he go with subs?

My guessed upon lineup would be:

    Seitz
    Ward - Pines - Robinson - Pedroso
    Segura - McCann
    Yow - Titi - Stieber
    Amarikwa

Subs: Rooney if a goal is needed, Birnbaum and Brillant to nail down the defense. Center mids and outside mids are a real problem.

Is Mora capable of 20 minutes? If so, put him in as a sub.

I'm assuming these players are unavailable: Arriola (GC), Canouse (injury). Durkin (rest after U-20 tourney) and Moreno (int'l duty)

Quotes from Ben on FloFC say that we will play the strongest possible lineup.

Durkin is back at DCU practice, no need for rest - but he won't play because he got a red in our last USOC game last year.

Both teams have no games so will play a full MLS-style line-up - boring, same as yet another league game with these yahoos, but with 4 subs and a possible overtime.

I love playing the lower-level teams with a B-ish team - lets you see how the backups handle the pressure of being in an important game against a team who is really up to play and try to beat you, moreso than just a regular 1-of-36 regular-season game.

Finally remembered to actually buy tickets - the game details list two tiers of tickets - GA West and GA end-line - but i had three choices of West seats - I hope my fake section number gets me into the same places as my friend's fake section number.
I went in without the special email the first time and saw that ticketbastard is selling seats for $20+ fees - mine were $15 no fee - so that almost paid for parking

They sent out a season-ticket email a while ago (like the day after the game was announced).
I called yesterday and had them re-send it.
I hope I remember to go by the box office to get my paper ticket before I get in the security-theater line :)

Also, this is my first visit to Audi Field!

From my ticket rep re: concessions tonight:

The concessions locations open for tonight will be all locations in the north side (133-138) and west side (122-132) concourses of the stadium.

    Arepas!

I am not so enamored of the arepas - several are tasty but they are all messy as heck when trying to eat them at your seat. (maybe if I ate them while in my seat....)
