For as long as I remember , the only way to make a team click and jell is go keep them together longer than 5-8 games a year. I’m sure most national teams face the same issues but it’s only logical. Like a club , you play year in and year out with one core group of players. This is probably why for Italy anyway, they always seemed to keep the nucleus of one club team. Even at the 2006 World Cup you a group of guys from Milan and Juventus. Same with 82 where I believe you had seven Juve players plus Antonioni , Bergomi and Bruno Conti.

Jorginho should be Verratti's sub. I've always said he has no pace at all. Against good fast midfields, he gets outclassed. It's showing today again so far.

I'm not a Verratti-Jorginho hater but these tactics aren't working well today. Chiesa was warming up so we'll probably see him at the beginning of the second half, maybe some SES and Belotti action later?
