I should ask you the same. What was YOURS? You gave enough of a ******** to be unnecessarily dickish, for literally zero ********ing reason.
Pace yourself, guys. If you two are going at each other over a meaningless friendly against the Reggae Boyz, what will you have left in the semi’s vs the Ticos or Catrachos?
So Josh Sargent didn't make the Gold Cup roster. Dude misses out on the U-20 World Cup for a meaningless camp and friendly against Jamaica where Berhalter throws out an "experimental" line up where nobody looked like they had a clue what the plan was? Never change, US Soccer. Dopes.
Some people are saying - most likely in an overabundance of enthusiasm over an admittedly impressive win over the Frenchies, but no less sincere for it - that the U20 group in Poland right now is the core of a "golden generation" for US Soccer, the result of all the money and effort put into development over the last decade. However one feels about all of that, you are 100% correct; Sargent belongs with that core group, not Berhalter's long shot saloon. What was he thinking? As for GGG's sudden, Klinnsmanesque decision to run a new system up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes, it was utterly foolish and doomed to failure. It's axiomatic that you can do that with a veteran group - as in 2002 where the defense, for instance, consisted of Berhalter, Hejduk, Mastroeni, Agoos, Pope, Llamosa, et, al, - you can change systems in mid game if you want to: simply call out the formation changes and they'll nod and know exactly what you're doing, why you're doing it and how to do what you want. What you can't do is come up with a new scheme and toss the kids out there. You aren't going to be able to tell a goddam thing from scared 20 year olds who have to think before they do anything.
Imagine being the dweeb who posts with this bunch of losers and shits on facebook and twitter. I'll never not laugh at and judge every single one of you.
No point in another thread for this, but the Baby Nats have looked pretty good against Ecuador in the first half. Need more composure in the back line and the midfield needs to step up though.
Haven’t really been following the U20WC, but why exactly is Josh Sargent not on this roster, much less the field?
