This ref is an absolute clown..
He has given the swiss a pen after he flopped over like a fish and was never touched.
The Portuguese go down the pitch and there is a clear foul , but he calls that back to review the other decision.

on top of the goal from Ronaldo earlier..
where the defender has won the ball , but he awarded a free kick.

I'm not sure what can be done about the fans but its critical something happens, literally every game we're playing now in anywhere that is relatively cheap to get to and is tourist friendly is having a resurgence of the bad old days.

Figures when there's finally an England team to be proud of a minority of the fans decide to make a resurgence as the most embarrassing in international football.

Is there any damning video evidence out there? As I recall back to the 2016 Euros we were blamed for starting plenty of trouble, but the Russians weren't until after a while the evidence came around. The media love these kind of stories true or not.

I of course hope it's not too bad because these are our countrymen, but there really seems like there is some kind of problem today with a minority of our away fans. It's so annoying.

I was out in France in Euro 2016 and rest assured there were plenty of England fans acting up as well. It's always the same no surrender to the IRA crowd that are the root of it all. They're there to be aggressive.

Unfortunately in France plenty of innocents got caught up in at as well, but that would be much less of a risk if those morons didn't put a target on all England fans backs. It's a vicious cycle too as the more they cause trouble the less normal fans go so everything gets worse.

Tommy Robinson literally named himself after a football hooligan. There's a substantial overlap between this band of ********heads and the whole EDL scene.

Basically, there were two main fan zones. The top one was really peaceful, mainly Portuguese with a small mix of others.

200 yards away was another fan zone with lots of English fans stood behind a group of sitting Portuguese fans. As soon as Portugal scored England fans started throwing bottles.

The police charged at the England fans who ran into side streets and were chased down. Police were a bit heavy handed but most of the lads I saw being hit were part of the bottle throwing mob.

Tommy Robinson is the only one with the balls to speak the truth. He's longer part of edl. People slagging him off only see the picture that the lefty media want u to see

They might also see his long list of convictions including violent crimes, his connections to the Finsbury Park terrorist attacker, the false accusations he casually tossed at a 15-year-old Syrian refugee after the kid was assaulted by a Tommy Robinson fan, his repeated joining, forming, and leaving of any number of white nationalist organisations, the coked-up bellendry of his European election campaign, the fact that he still trades under the name of a career football hooligan...

But yeah, I'm sure he's a sweetheart and any other impression people might have is down to the malign influence of Polly flipping Toynbee. Don't be a plank.

Right... England fans can be dickheads sometimes. Some take it way too far and it isn’t a one off - I remember groups chucking bottles at boats in Amsterdam and doing similar stuff in other cities, it isn’t on.

I’m excited to see a potential Sancho, Rashford and Sterling front 3, that really is a pacy and skilful attack

Indeed. A guy who served a jail sentence for assaulting an off duty police officer who was trying to protect his girlfriend from him and is also a convicted fraudster.

The EDL etc are largely populated by hooligans and casuals. They love getting into big groups and intimidating people. You see this on their marches and in football hooligan crowds.

I've known a few in my time and can confirm that they were bullies and petty criminals. Some of the worst people I've had the misfortune of crossing paths with.

I thought this forum was meant to talk about the England foot team. Why are we discussing our depressing political state on here? Let's talk about something more exciting like rashford, sterling and sancho playing together against the best defence in the world.

I thought we were talking about the stupid fans in Portugal?

EDL are a bunch of racists anyway, nobody with any ounce of def respect would listen to anything they say

Yeah that’s fair enough and we can move on but you probably have to understand that many will be a little startled by your apparent support for a far right racist twat.

Obviously many people find what he says objectionable, but for a would-be free speech hero that is more of a prerequisite than a disqualifying factor. I don't have a problem with England fans chanting his name. Prime minister's of the country have done far worse than he ever has. If people don't like that he is a figurehead for the pushback against Islamization then they should take it up with the liberals that are too cowardly to apply their principles universally. His positions are far more mainstream with the public than the media and political establishments are willing to accept.

Which white nationalist organizations has he formed or joined? I know he joined the BNP as a young man and left shortly after, that's the closest thing to a white nationalist group affiliation that I'm aware of.

Anyway back to England. I'm confident we will win tonight based on the fact our front players have pace. I don't think vvd will enjoy facing the likes of sterling Sancho or rashford. De ligt isn't the quickest either. Their fullbacks aren't particularly good. We always have kane on the bench if things aren't quite clicking. This is definitely the best England squad in my lifetime. Add to the fact we are without winks odoi cheek plus the likes of Madison and foden to come through. Strength in depth everywhere

You've named one there. He founded the EDL, and then left to form Pegida UK with Paul Weston, who believes in white genocide. I fully expect you to deny that the last two are ethnic nationalists so I'll save you the bother - there is such a thing as implausible deniability.

And I'm obviously aware that he has a following. That's how we got onto this - some of them have been busily bashing up Porto.

Totally fair enough, but if you bring Tommy Robinson's political activism into the conversation then that's going to get discussed. It's difficult to talk about the Porto violence without mentioning its links to the wider EDL scene and its figureheads like TR, but we don't have to get onto left and right and Islam and all of that tedious nonsense. Happy to respect that boundary if you are.
