I always felt he was a victim of horrid coaching and setups with the USMNT. He had/has a lot more to offer under competent leadership. I would e super stoked if they gave him another run out. Unfortunately.... MB 90000
Thread survivors, My team won today and we are sitting at the top of the table in Korea. Soon the team will travel to Shanghai to play the last game of the very "group-of-death" where we already have secured the group #1 spot - in the AFC Champions League. It would be fun to spend educational time in Shanghai and also witness the incredible fan atmosphere I am told is growing at unsurpassing rates in China's metropolitan centers. But I know Coach has other priorities with how I am to spend my time in the next days to come. Next, my club just lifted the Premier League trophy in Brighton, after in February lifting the League Cup trophy at Wembley, and, insh-a'allah, will lift the FA Cup Trophy at Wembley again, in just a few hours. Adding to my smiles these days is the fact that Poseidon's, Poya Ashbagi's and IFK Göteborg's project (even under a long period of financial strain) proves to be what we believers thought it could be, and aimed for it to be. #2 in Allsvenskan as I write is definitely sooner than expected -and the more joyous it is. At Rosenborg - puhhh. I just cringe when I see the disappointing results ticking in. I feel for the players, fans, and coach. However, not just in hindsight, but especially back then when it happened, I found it inconceivable that such a dear club could sack both their coach and manager (used to be my coach and my manager - nicest guys around, too) just after they had been instrumental - together with fans and players - to hand the club three straight league titles including two "doubles". Anyway, I don't see Rosenborg - with all that base quality - being in a position and in a landscape where relegation is even a possibility. So, I will have no nightmares or sleepless nights for that reason during this summer. Stabæk - manager Inge Andre Olsen continues to be a miracle. And he will always have my deepest respect and loyalty, and I will help him out every time I see there is a chance to exchange ideas. A pack of incredibly young midfielders are having to pull the weight for him week in and week out now, even though they all probably realize that Inge needs to sell off half of them rather soon - to keep the creditors at bay. These are really good players with ample talent, whom I wish all the best, whether their immediate future lies in Stabæk or not. Gent - Reached the play-offs again. Super - Jupiler!! Nycfc - I just hope everything about this club can turn out to be just as kind - and even more importantly - can turn out to be just as stable - as our New York fans were and are. On track to play-offs this year. Concacaf CL play is not at all unattainable, either next year or in a very few. Start spreadin' the news.... Frigg - Now you tell me what's going on there? From Half the world away, Happy camper
MNAASGNF. What the hell language is that? Speaking of Belgium, Kompany is going to become player/manager at Anderlecht. Presumably he will have priority access to Man City’s loan Army in Belgium. 2+2=???
I had to protest to get the goal that sealed the win today.Fair or unfair?Strange or not? However, sitting relaxed in a train coach looking back - I hate that we all emotionally try to influence umpires, judges or referees.— Mix Diskerud (@MixDiskerud) May 25, 2019
He should check his answering machine because he almost missed a call... bwahahahahaha. Was the OS flag up or did he think it was OS? No idea what happened.
Ref blew his whistle and signaled for a penalty kick before, or as, the ball crossed the goal line. (He probably thought little of my finish and thought the ball did go, or would go, over the cross bar). Now, what is, or should have been, the correct correction - if BigSoccer majority were to prevail or decide, that is?
There's what he "should" have done as a good ref - which is just hold off blowing the whistle, and either indicate advantage or, just as effective in this case since you were already in the box, just let the play run out the final second or two before signaling the PK. Then there is what he should have done in this case according to LOTG/Advice. "Technically" if he blew the whistle the play is dead and he should have required a PK (although refs let this situation stand pretty regularly, it embarrassing to wipe out a goal just to give a chance at a goal.) Then there's what he should have done in this specific case - never whistled the PK at all - that was soft! He's just protecting the fancy foreign star.
I am not a referee, but my understanding is that the referee should get an A for ultimate decision and a C for execution. Referees are theoretically supposed to wait a moment for blowing the whistle in these situations to see if the goal is scored first.
Made team-o-da-week.... @MixDiskerud @jrnegao_ and captain Lee Keun-ho all make the #KLeague team of the week 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/7pYjpcwQER— Dan Croydon Diaz 🐯🌹 (@DolsotDan) May 28, 2019
Lots of con fu si on, o no In a few h taking on Daegu - wish us luck - tips to have us win or remain league leaders? Some pre-game humor, pls. (A joke that translates well in/to Korean)
Paraphrased from A Horse Walks Into a Bar, an excellent and absurdist novel by David Grossman. A woman is at a funeral parlor and is talking to the mortician. He's presented her with the body of her late husband and she's marveling at his work. "You did a great job, she says. "He looks so peaceful, like he's only sleeping. And his hair and his suit look so nice. The suit, where did you get it?" "Oh, well your daughter brought it in. Is something wrong with it?" "Well other than it's my dead husband in it and not the alive one, no. But he told me once that he wanted to be buried in a black one, not a blue one. We don't have any of his clothes anymore. Is there any chance you could find a black one?" The mortician thinks it over and says "I'll see what I can do. The funeral is tomorrow so we'll see." The next morning he excitedly calls up the wife and tells her to come down early. In the hall she sees her husband, now in a black suit. "Amazing," she says. "This is perfect." "Yeah," he replies, "so lucky." "How do you mean?" "Well, yesterday a man came in, about your husband's height and build and he was wearing a beautiful black suit and his wife said he'd always been wanting to be buried in a blue suit!" "Wow, what a coincidence, I'd like to meet her. Say, how do you get a suit off intact anyway after rigor mortis sets in?" He looks at her confused. "Get a suit off? What do you mean? All I had to do was switch the heads."
Top of table -- for awhile -- so -- happy for a while ( ). Most happy with my own contribution and quick thinking on goal #2. Jeju fantastic island. Would have liked to have spend the week end if I could have. Have any of you been there? Table: - https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=Z3HyXKK3JY2SmwWv5YHwAQ&q=k-league+
Stings me, that this, by a stretch, is more foreign than an Englishman in New York: Nothing like the sun, though!
Can we "privatly" discuss the three games that takes place this evening in Poland in the U20 WC? Very important and decisive games for CONCACAF, CAF and AFC. AFC => is guaranteed one team in the quarter finals (Japan or S-Korea) CONCACAF => Shaky. USA the only CONCACAF team left, but with only low betting probability for a win. Betting odds as high 6,95 now for a win during first 90'. CAF => Still with a chance of getting a record of 3 teams into the Q-finals. So, should we now already predict what the soccer history books soon will reveal. Or put some money where our mouths ........
