Disagree. You've become overly sentimental in your old age. Perhaps this question is more in poor taste... Do we know how this injury happened? Did anyone see anything from the Colorado match? Given his effort on the field this season, it's hard to imagine it being an on field injury. Did he slip in the shower?
It was when he was taken out on the clumsy, dangerous play right before the Santos goal. The Colorado player went lunging in his his foot and cleet exposed to deflect a ball played into the box and got nothing but Pipa’s knee. Rapids players then argued for a foul on Pipa after the goal was scored.
Dayton Dutch Lions killed Eddie Gaven and now the Colorado Rapids killed Pipa. Time to cut off all diplomatic relations with Colorado. Bring Abubakar home! Also, Pipa was down for a real long time after this which lead to the 9 minutes of injury time where they scored in the 7th. ******** that!
It's bringing back memories of Ross Paule. At least this time, we have plenty of cap space. It's still an unpleasant situation though.
FWIW, today is the sixth anniversary of Eddie Gaven being done. 1134545791060762624 is not a valid tweet id
At least Pipa can have a normal life afterwards. Paule has had long term effects from his concussions.
In the interests of honesty, to which I am devoted I have to admit that when I texted my son Mookie, who knows the game better than I ever can or will, that Higs was done his response was "well, they needed someone who isn't a statue in there anyway. They needed to move on" If this was not enough humiliation, he then texted "you're not going to win MLS Cup.with him in there anymore anyway so you might as well move on" I blame his mother
Does Mook like Higs? I respect Pipa for his time with Crew. Yet, I have am nowhere in love with him like the BS resident Higs Super Fan, @chr1st. Not anywhere close. Federico Higuain - Thank you for your years of service. Unfortunately, we did not win any of the three major trophies during your tenure. Pipa, you will always be my favorite of the Higuain brothers.
Real talk.... Higuain's legacy to me will always be breaking up the 2015 team by selfishly taking the PK in the game against Montreal and keeping a cowardly silence after it, and hanging on about 2 seasons too long. The talk about him being a Crew legend just leaves me shrugging my shoulders.
Maybe Robert Warzycha can give Higuain some advice on how to go from having a good run with the Crew as both fan favorite and fan hated player, to retiring, to becoming head coach for the Crew, to having questionable success, to becoming the problem to getting fired...
If Kei hadn't been traded by just about every team in the league I might think this as being somewhat valid.
