So looks like we've got the Eads Brigade, St. Louligans, and The Wastelanders. Who is active? Who supports who? Anyone wanna break down the soccer scene in STL for me? Recent STL resident here.
Same here, just moved here in September. Is there anyway to get everyone together maybe help show that their is support for soccer here like the Philly. Indy, and San Antonio fans did. It helped bring teams to those cities.
Eads Brigade is defunct. Closed up around 2 years ago as most of the members had moved on to either the Louligans or become inactive. The mission of the Wastelanders is essentially the same as you mentioned, organizing and mobilizing to drum up interest for MLS. We're having our first watch party May 8th at Tigin on Washington, everyone is invited to join us. We'll have more events planned to rally people even more. We'll talk about plans and leadership on the 8th. If you're interested more in watching live soccer the Louligans support the Lions in St Charles (men's PDL) and Fire and Ice SC in Columbia IL (WPSL).
OK pretty sure Ima come to this. Can we talk about getting a mens rec team together? I've gotten a bit fat this year because I stopped playing (and stopped working out because I had no reason to stay fit). Are there any mens rec leagues in STL? I've done a few quick searches but there doesnt seem to be one big organized league like ADASL in Atlanta.
Not gonna be able to make Wastelanders meeting. Please let me know if you guys form a mens league side though. Would love to join.
Most of us are too old and fat to play much anymore but I know there are some leagues around and a new one in the works. If I can find out the details I'll let you know.
Have you checked out Vetta? they always have leagues. Or, you can join the St. Louis Pick Up Soccer group on Facebook.
Vetta seems to be all indoor and 6v6 or 7v7. Is there no big soccer league in STL? Even a mexican/latino league? http://www.adasl.com/default.asp ATL has an outdoor league with 3 divisions. 11v11 and games are always on weekend. I'm just surprised STL has nothing similar or no citywide outdoor soccer league for how popular the game is here.
Oh yes, there are leagues like that, sorry. Here's the latino league here: http://www.futbolstl.com/ CYC (which has a long, rich soccer history in STL) has an Adult Soccer League. Some of these teams have even competed for/and played in the US Open Cup: http://www.cycstl.net/sports/adult/soccer Vetta does have outdoor 11vs11: http://www.vettasports.com/adult-outdoor-soccer#.UbMkMvmsiSo there's also this league, which I've never heard of before: http://www.metroadultsoccer.com/masl/
We recently hosted our first fan workshop session, in which #MLS4THELOU ownership and #STL soccer influencers shared ideas about stadium experience, matchday traditions and more. It was a great step forward in becoming a team – together. #WithTheFansForTheFans #STLMade pic.twitter.com/io5Viw0gPI— St Louis CITY SC (@stlCITYsc) May 30, 2019
