Who pissed in your corn flakes this morning? Just because you attribute malevolence to my post, instead of simple skepticism, doesn't mean it is there. I don't have a problem with "rednecks," and you used the pejorative, not me. Let's wait and see whether Atlanta's super-charged attendance is for real and not simply a product of early success. As for that certain Pacific Northwest team market, Seattle Sounders FC have yet to not qualify for the playoffs, and won an MLS Cup as recently as 2016 -- only 2.5 years ago. That's one more MLS Cup than Dallas has in its entire existence, Mr. Smack Talk. So the new car smell still has not worn off yet in that particular Pacific Northwest team market. Let's continue to wait and see there, as well.
It's a stupid take, period. Why even be skeptical and have qualifiers on their success in the first place? I'm not sure what that last sentence has to do with anything, Mr. My-Team-Has-Never-Even-Made-The-Final-Of-America's-Oldest-Soccer-Competition. I can assure you that any new car bought in 2009 would have precisely zero new car smell in 2019.
That's your I'm-an-asshole method of saying you disagree. Got it. Your way of expressing yourself is highly immoderate for a Moderator.
No, it's my way of saying that I celebrate AUFC's attendance success (and SSFC's attendance success, for that matter) and say "Borrow some best practices from them, y'all," rather than trying to try to talk down their success as being some sort of mirage brought about by only charging $2 for a Coke that only cost the team a nickel in first place. I'm not a moderator in this forum. If you think that my tone is excessively intemperate, you are welcome to hit the "Report" button and let this forum's moderators make that call.
I have a feeling the next breakthrough franchise and/or city if and when they get a team in MLS will be St. Louis. I still would like to see these guys though!
I didn't have a feel for it, except that I felt the pre-launch support felt more like astroturf than real grassroots.
I figure I've never topped the charts or won any real awards, but the sheer breadth of my posting history earns me some sort of lifetime achievement thing. I did actually get a red card once, for about five minutes, by triggering a women's forum moderator about ten years ago. It was totally worth it.
Is it OK if we still think that certain teams (one team in particular) should adopt the jerseys of their sparsely-attended and mostly irrelevant NASL predecessors?
I wouldn’t mind seeing the fringes again.... I mean they were so ugly that they almost looked cool. Kind of like the Adams Family.....
I don't want to dig up the old thread, but Hope Solo's case has moved forward in surprising ways: https://www.socceramerica.com/publi...aign=21523&hashid=wYMApwHSei1PbvR6HSmMdB0X7j8 The dismissal of her case has been overturned on a technicality
