So frequently I'm left asking, "how did Mendez not get to that ball?". Great range on his passes/shots, terrible with his feet. Hopefully the former compensates for the latter, or he improves it.

So what's the actual formation? Is that actually McKenzie playing on the right touchline?

Bad ball, and bad tackling angle by Durkin, gave away a near scoring chance for the Qataris. Happens to him too much, especially the latter.

Unless Ramos told the players not to score until a goal is scored in the Ukraine-Nigeria game.

Lacking the personnel and numbers up higher to much threaten the Qatari defense so far, and it's leading to a lot of balls in against their own defense. All it would take is one misplay. On paper semi-bunkering makes them more secure, but they might actually be in more danger this way, while creating less chances.

Soto needed to find something to retain possession on the last trip down... Stupid call by the ref for the yellow...

That being a yellow is ridiculous tho. He stood there, and the dude kicked the ball 50 yards ahead of him, with zero chance of chasing it down.

Yes by having so few players that want the ball, you're baiting Durkin to be trying killer balls, have McKenzie in no-mans land for him. It's leading to bad passes, bad positioning against a team trying to score themselves, not ideal.

A tie with give us a better matchup in the knockout stages. I wouldn't do it but looks like Tab is thinking that.

This ref sucks as much as the U.S. has so far. Maybe we can raise our level and he'll join us.
