Dude takes things step by step.
We are the right place for him now.
I'd go all in for him given we cant afford Chiesa.

More like how are we going to replace Dzeko, Manolas, Kolarov, De Rossi, and possibly Under in one summer with pocket change. Throw a new keeper in there as well and it’s going to be a near miracle that we have a competent team next season.

If you're shrewd you can replace them with lesser known players from lower leagues or in league signings. Defrel, Dragovic, Dijks etc Look to the Belgium and Dutch leagues like Atalanta for good quality cheaper players. They're in many leagues just waiting for a chance. Whats most important is players that suit the managers way of playing. We simply must get that right this time and no more idiotic attempts at making strikers right wingers etc. Building a functioning 11 is not that difficult but we have made it so the past few years.Part of that was player purchases and also a big part was EDF failing to establish a midfield balance. There can be no more excuses.

De Rossi is a big lose but if we sell Nzonzi and that still leaves an inbalance with Zaniolo, Cristante and Pellegrini. Zaniolo may leave out of those 3. With two sales reinvested into the correct type of midfielder we're missing, it gives you adequate money. Barella is that type of player we need but if it can be someone else like him thats cheaper then that can work.

I'd like to see us give N'Zonzi a preseason to buy in, get acclimated. I have to imagine we'll eat a chunk of that 30 mil if we sell now, as well.

But he seems like a guy who might be checked out already. Nothing you can do if that's the case.

Depends on the coach really. We still don’t have a coach or a DS, which makes it futile to make judgments on the roster.

If a guy like Giampaolo arrives then swapping Nzonzi for Bennacer/Barella is a must. Gasperini has no use for a clunky tall midfielder.

Actually its difficult to imagine which coach will find Nzonzi suitable for his football, perhaps Spalletti in his 4-2-3-1.

lol, Balotelli's name always finds its way into the forum around this time of year. And every year, at least one person needs to be told it's a terrible idea.

    Never fails.

Dude scored Dzeko’s numbers of goals in less than half games Dzeko played.
And he is free, I dont see the problem here.

We are linked to Thauvin as a replacement to Under. I think its a major upgrade but I doubt we can afford it.

Do you think there might be a reason why he is a free agent for the 3rd time before he even reaches 30?

Roma needs to rely on their primavera more. Celar is ready for the big time. He is too good for the primavera. So why not give him a shot with the senior squad? He scored 28 goals! Luca Pellegrini needs to be our leftback. He played very well for Cagliari. He is ready to at least contribute. We have Riccardi and Antonnuci. Why not give them a go like we did with Zaniolo?

Giving these players a chance with the senior team is a way to soften the blow of DDR leaving. The fans will have guys they can root for and build up.

There's even this kid by the name of Coric that was pretty heavily hyped last summer but barely got a look during the season...

Thauvin would be the new Dzeko here. Obvious quality, but his bad days are him wandering around with a pouty face that would make fans hate his whole family.

I felt Coric under Gasperini could have grown into the Gomez role long term. He was the one player I was looking forward to seeing the most. Kind of forgotten about but he's a gem. Hopefully he just needs to mature.

Or at least send him out on loan for a year to gain valuable experience and playing time.

Bennacer is close to Napoli for 10M.

Meanwhile Roma still don’t have a DS.
