I've seen her plenty of times, she was specially good for the WC 2015. But for this team to reach the "super poderosas"" level they've been branded, they have to rely on a GK that can also mark difference. And she was specially awful yesterday. That 1st goals was a crackling beauty by the argentine after a poor defensive clearance but you'll also see there was not only zero effort in stopping that goal but you can tell she actually seems to shy away from the ball(her arms tuck in).

Both counterattacks she could have done better. She was well out of position in both, in the 2nd goal, her feet are never ready and instead she starts to shift back leaving too much space between her goal and her position. On the 3rd she was catching butterflies.

I'm just saying it's the one position where I didnt see an improvement year to year. Really disappointed with this result.

God and here I thought that they were going to make the top 2. Well if Chile defeats Argentina and we win but then it's all up to goal difference with how many goals they score.

Just like in the match vs Argentina, yesterday the girls should've won and by much, but lack of concentration + great game of the Chilean keeper ended in a draw. We need a draw or a minimum Chilean win and then to win Brazil by two....yeah, not going to happen.

This team deserves better. Although I hated that term, "superpoderosas"... I knew it was going to come back and bite them.

Maybe this should be stickyd and merged with a women’s league

But Huila won the Copa Lib so now they will have another season of the women’s league.

In the US no one goes to the women’s league either. At least when I lived in Boston I’d go see Alex Morgan when she came. That’s about it. It was like a 2nd or 3rd division league attendance and the team would meet with you and was way more humble. Not a awful experience but can’t compare it to a men’s league.

My nieces wouldn’t wing for me when I said to tell Alex Morgan I was single.

Increible que este tipo siga manejando la federacion:

    https://www.eltiempo.com/deportes/f...isis-en-el-futbol-femenino-en-colombia-330486

The situation is really ********ed Up. There's just no defense Whatsoever for any of these bastards.

Having a women's League is important even if there is no revenue, because otherwise a lot of talent Will be Lost, the path is already very steep for a man to become a pro footballer, now imagine a woman that has no League where she can get some exposure, no matter how small. Money and exposure Will only come if there is a League.

I saw somewhere that the Fed said they needed 700 girls for a league. Why such a high number?

I think about 250 should suffice, starting with 8-12 teams in a short season: 20 games, semifinals and finals, probably during the men’s summer break, so also some Colombian-American girls join in.

And get smaller cities involved, so they get exposure. Also, I’ve seen regional channels covering sub-14 and sub-12 tournaments, I guess getting a few games on tv shouldn’t be that difficult.

It can’t be that hard to figure out, right?

Yea should be a small 8-10 team league

But seriously that not what we should be discussing. Are they saying the u17 coach raped some of the girls? How is that asshole not in jail?

Well, they've showed games from the Women's League but to be completely honest they are crap. To me this should be something similar to what has been done in USA with the WNBA, unfortunately the Liga Águila has very low income too, what should be done is give incentives to the FPC clubs that promote a women's team and keep It running.

Can’t they use some of the money from the Men’s NT for a women’s league? And a 3rd divison for men.

These things would hopefully lead to better female players who can win more prize money by qualifying and winning international cups.

This can also lead stronger men’s teams by having another level for men’s.

no need to overthink it really. Example, NCAA D1D2 football funds almost every single athletic program it offers. They know most of these programs are loss leaders but it's built into the budget. No reason why the FCF can't fund and appropriate 5%-10% from their winnings each year. In 2018 WC year, that 5% would have equated to $600k. Add to it it FIFA incentives/moneys, private moneys, government incentives, sponsorships, Liga club money and all of a sudden you have a pretty fruitful process. It can make money or at least be sustainable.

With a soccer crazy country like Colombia, which has over 50% of its population as female, it's really a solid long term investment in it's development and more importantly in it's culture and crazy to me that Colombian leadership is still so barbaric in not seeing why this is so important.

If we host the Women’s WC will we renovate or build new stadiums?

Watching the Mexican women’s league and man their stadium is like a different planet then ours

It’s even a small stadium still looks crazy nice

I would think this is all part of the bid proposal. I think building new stadiums for a womens WC in Colombia is throwing money away and putting the cart before the horse. Build an infrastructure (political and physical) to support women and the game, starting with youth play and go from there. I would imagine they would use the existing stadium infrastructure with some updates. Having seen how France's WC it was absolutely amazingly executed, I don't see us winning this bid. We can barely sustain a women's league, let alone have the will to host a proper WC by FIFA's standards.

Starting today, the Copa Libertadores Femenina will be played as a 16-team tournament in Quito, Ecuador, but disrupted by the violent protests against the government there. Matches may all be behind closed doors. The final is on 27 Oct.

Y'see, this is why I keep coming back to BigSoccer, because people who I'm "following" here write great things that I link to without even knowing they wrote them :D ..if that makes sense

[IMG] América de Cali have reached the Libertadores Femenina semi-finals – winning the QF on Tuesday against Argentina's champions:
