This is kind of odd. Apparently Sporting KC (re)introduced Benny to the KC media today, but neither KC or Colorado has officially announced the trade: https://www.kansascity.com/sports/mls/sporting-kc/article230169239.html
Does that mean that trades are still allowed within the league and the transfer deadline from yesterday was just about imports?
No, the league changed the rules a couple of years ago so that the trading windows matched the transfer windows. But moves don't have to be announced by the deadline, they just have to be filed by the deadline. So there may be moves filed late last night that are still trickling out.

I don't understand a lot of this. But apparently Benny's gone, a CB is coming in who may or may not be better than the guys we have, and Garberbux (TM) and other things that aren't actual players changed hands.
By all reports he's a row project for future years. I'd be surprised if he got anything more than garbage time and USOC minutes with the first team in 2019.
Abubakar? He did get 1700 minutes for the Crew last year but has fallen out of favor with Porter it looks like. I think he challenges for a starting spot, especially if you guys stick with that 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation you've been putting out. I think he fits better as a mobile option than anyone in that backline you currently have. In more Union trading players for assets news: 1126623092825055233 is not a valid tweet id
Yeah, when I saw you responded to this thread the first thing I thought was, "he is talking about the KC trade, isn't he?". Whoops.

And now we know why the Sounders brought in a new CB. Chad Marshall has announced his retirement effective immediately. https://www.soundersfc.com/post/2019/05/22/chad-marshall-announces-retirement-professional-soccer
I have enjoyed watching him play - and thought he probably should have retired long since. This is an announcement I would not have been surprised to read at any point over at least a five year period. But to be fair to him and other athletes in a similar cycle of concussions (or other chronic injuries), I would not have left a game or a career willingly (or until the last possible moment) either.
RSL parted ways with defender Adam Henley (former Blackburn player and Wales international) by mutual consent. The move is received in RSL-land with a collective shrug, since few if anyone even remembered he was on the team still.
FC Dallas signed their 26th homegrown player yesterday. US U17 Ricardo Pepi. If you can name all 26 then you seriously need to get a life. I love that Dallas still pushing from the ground up, showing how the farm system should work. Role models are needed in MLS.

Not a player, but Montreal sent $100K of GAM to Colorado for an international slot until the end of the season today.
Atlanta has traded forward Romario Williams to the Crew for $100K of GAM. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/07/01/columbus-crew-acquires-romario-williams-atlanta-united
