you pull out your cell phone at the gate, they scan your ticket code and thats it. sometimes you even get printout with your seat location, mostly not. at very few spots you gotta be online, in most cases screenshot or open app are enough!
For those who have gone through previous Euro application processes, what's that UEFA resale portal like? Is there any sort of maximum number of tickets that you're able to list for re-sale? Since I don't quite know the likelihood of getting tickets through lottery (Euro 2016 seemed to be somewhere between 1 in 7 and 1 and 15 for any given match), I've been leaning toward applying heavily to matches, letting my successful applications dictate my travel schedule, and listing any that don't mesh with the schedule for sale on the UEFA portal (which is face value only). I really don't care to flip them for money, but I don't want to get burdened with tickets that can't be offloaded.
My wife and I both applied in 2016. My plan was to go for "bigger" stadiums in Paris. We applied for 4 games total (all in Paris), with a mixture of 2-4 tickets per match. We ended up getting 6 tickets (4 and 2) to one group game (Iceland v Austria), and 4 to a round of 16 in Paris (Spain v Italy). All together, I was about 40% successful. However, I only won for Stade de France, which was one of the bigger venues. I didn't win tickets to any of the PSG stadium games. I'm worried about the smaller venues this time, as I am trying for Copenhagen. As far as the resale portal, there were plenty in 2016 after the draw. I remember thinking I could have gone to Germany v N Ireland in PSG, rather than the Iceland Austria game. However, wouldn't trade my experience for anything. Amazing game and atmosphere that day. But yes, there were plenty of resale tix available on the site at a first come, first serve basis. Kinda like stub hub or other "resale" websites. But seller cannot sell over face value. Good system, but unsure about availability this time with the cup all spread out. Willing to bet non-traditional sites will have plenty available... Baku, Bucharest, Budapest Whats everyone going for this time? Like I said, my wife wants to visit Denmark, so we are trying for group games in Copenhagen. Amsterdam is a backup plan.
It's no problem at all. Last time round my friend and I both applied, and we ended up with double what we needed. He resold all of his and made a tiny profit due to the exchange rate change in the interim. Generally demand is sure to be higher this time.
Does any one know, if it’s hard to get final tickets to the Euro like it was for the World Cup final from experience? World Cup final, was impossible for me to get tickets through the drawing!
Anyone come up with a strategy yet? Im trying for Copenhagen, but its like the smallest stadium. Should I try for some Cat 1 and 2?
no clue, but as always, more applications you file more chance to get the tickets. and now, with payment afterwards, you can pay what you really need only. simple as that!
Unbelievable from Uefa if they do the same for Euro, it's like saying no to money. The Euros TST don't allow you to follow all the way to the final if your team is eliminated as the TST7 in World cup right? Otherwise that's a good/best option.
I think they only let you do it for the one knockout round (so 4 games). I haven't tried for tickets like this before. Does this mean I can just try for 4 or 5 different matches even if I only plan on purchasing for 1? So it's basically reserving tickets and they go to someone else if you decide not to buy. Thanks
So if you apply for 5 games and “win” all 5, your card will be charged. You don’t get to say no. The tickets are yours. However, don’t see an issue with reselling on the website. You can sell at face value easy.
But this time around the UEFA ticket site says: ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE OUTCOME OF THEIR APPLICATION BY MID-AUGUST 2019. SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE A LIMITED TIME TO MAKE PAYMENT. I think that's what people here are talking about. You could make a number of separate applications and if too many of them are successful then only log back in and pay for the one(s) you still want.
I bought tickets to the Portugal game on the UEFA website, for UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE 2019 and depending on whether to go to the final or to 3rd and 4th places. The tickets were virtual, downloaded into the UEFA app. You can transfer the tickets by email to your friends' app or get them all together with a single app. At the entrance of the stadium the location and the bluetooh are activated and the system recognizes the tickets, then it was only to pass the tourniquet. It is easy to enter or sell virtual tickets. If you want the physical ticket but only as a souvenir, you have to come after the game through the website and it cost 10 euros extra.
Will Uefa be opening the ticketing portal during and right before the tournament as Fifa did with the past two World Cups?
The best is to buy early for better planning ahead of Euro 2020. These tickets will be sold fast and can be frustrating not to get one. Major cities tend to charge higher ticket prices because of other factors like cost of living. So, it's not just the tickets that are expensive but also the accommodation could also be the same. All the best.

So you say it's easy and there are no complications in passing tickets to any friends if that becomes necessary. I intend to make lots of applications in the hope 1or 2 might get thru but don't want to be stuck with loads of extra tickets.
I hope that’s the case, but I just don’t see that happening. I think we are misunderstanding. I think they mean you have a limited time to say yes or no to ALL the games you won. All or nothing. Pay for them or else your tickets will be released. Otherwise, what’s to stop me from applying to EVERY game and deciding later. Would make no sense. Millions would be applying to every game, making it impossible to get tickets. Just my two cents.
I've emailed them through the Contact Us page on the ticketing site to clarify if you can pick only some of the games you've applied for. Will reply here with their response.
Yes, I agree with that bit. But there is the possibility of registering on the UEFA ticket site more than once, with different email addresses, and making multiple separate applications for the same set of games. Then see what the results are like, and pay for one or more of the applications as you see fit. (I'm not personally recommending this approach btw.)
Tickets go on sale very soon, but I think it will be a similar deal to last time. We will see if we still have to provide CC details with the application. I suspect "limited time to make payment" means the funds come off your CC very soon afterwards, but also if the transaction is blocked for whatever reason then there's a limited time to make the payment. Just can't see UEFA changing the system which has been in place and allow people to make unlimited applications under different accounts effectively.
Well actually looks like they are asking for payments after the applications have been decided. This will be chaos. I'd see this as a step backwards for anti scalping measures. They'll have more time and capabilities to submit god knows how many applications and I very much doubt the ID of every fan will be checked going into the game.
