Too much corporate-speak. Next time, they should just talk like normal fans: "We decided to sack the coach because we haven't been winning. We hope we start winning again."
imo that team began the season playing above its talent level. It’s a USL roster for the most part. It was eventually going to catch up to them. Maybe the coach was doing a bad job...I honestly have no idea. But that roster is their biggest problem.
That was a short lived stint with the Crapids. Source: Can confirm reports that Sporting Kansas City have acquired Benny Feilhaber from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for centerback Abdul Rwatubyaye #ForGloryForCity #Rapids96— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) May 8, 2019
wow we never got to play against Benny in a cRapids kit. That's really too bad. Also, more proof that our GM is a ********ing moron because the cRapids obviously are looking to move players and we're over here trying to ******** a light socket.
The Revolution have sacked Friedel. No word yet on whether or not fans were waiting for him in the parking lot. https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/po...eved-duties-new-england-revolution-head-coach
this screams that they didn't want to be the first team to sack their manager but as soon as the cRapids and FCC pulled the trigger they felt comfortable doing it
I kinda feel like MLS has made it since, like the "real" soccer leagues, we're now firing managers 25% of the way through the season. I wouldn't be surprised if Mike's seat is getting warm.
So Zlatan choke-slammed (in a fashion) Sean Johnson (sp) and only got a yellow. I think it's past the point of ridiculous how MLS/PRO doesn't have the balls to actually punish him like any other player. I'm waiting on someone to get fed up and get retribution on him on the field.
Taylor Twellman is saying Bruce Arena will be the new one of or even both position, coach GM at NE Revs.
If I was the Galaxy, I would tell him to cool the extra curricular activities because if someone decides to deal out some of their own justice, he could be out of commission for a few weeks/months which isn't good for the Galaxy's investment in him. It's never a good idea to go out of your way to paint a bullseye on your back due to being a jerk.
Bruce named both coach and sporting director. This might be a perfect match as in he gets total control and Kraft's don't have to pay attention to the team, and one less person on they payroll for them. He might not have the funds of LAG but he has control of the team. How successful do you think he will be? I do not see him able to build his kind of championship team but can build a playoff team. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...ew-england-revolution-coach-sporting-director
This last world cup cycle took a lot of the luster off of Bruce for me. I think the game has passed him by and he is scrambling to adjust. The league would be better if it had a presence in Boston, so from that perspective I hope he can do as much as possible to make them successful. However, I don't see how he can have one hand tied behind his back financially and the other by his age/old style and keep up...
Petke gets out-coached by many if not all, especially with in-game adjustments, so it's not going to be a big change.
Mr. Garbage Goal. I wonder how many of his goals, currently at 148, were scored outside the 6 yard box. At least he didn't set the record while playing against RSL. That would really suck.
Holy Fecal Material, Batman! Colorado won a game! They beat LA Galaxy in LA. But, not to get your hopes up for the Caribou, Zlatan didn't play because he was suspended. Anyway, congratulations to the Rapids.
Here is an article about Wondo's 148 goals and how he scored them. https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/derby-strikes-play-off-failings-220240914.html The Cliff's Notes version. As I expected, most of Wondo's 148 goals have come within the 18-year box, but only five have been outside the box. 25 have been from penalties. I don't know if the ratio of 144 to 5 is normal for other soccer players or something that is exclusive to Wondo. He has only scored one goal in the six playoff games he has played in. I would have expected more. He has scored 82 goals off his right foot, 38 off his left and 28 with his head. He has scored the most against the LA Galaxy (12 goals) followed by Vancouver, Colorado and Seattle (11 goals each). I don't know how many he has scored against RSL, but I would think it was close to 11 since RSL has played against San Jose many times.
It doesn't look unusual, depending on the player and position. This (ugh) slideshow has some EPL examples https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...alty-area-box-goals-percentage-sportgalleries
This is also what I suspected since A) the 18-yard box is pretty large and B) the closer a player is to the goal when he shoots, the higher the probability that the ball will beat the goalie and go in the goal (usually). So, since Wondo plays forward, you would expect his goal tally to be the same, i.e. over 95% in the box (approximately 97.2%).
