I mean ok we as gladbach fan's have the right to be biased...but hey this wasent even up for debate...oh and can somebody explain to me why the linesman ( i hope the entire nation at least saw that scene at least) was begging and trying to grab the main official away from the screen thatsinstalled next to the pitch??? It seemed like he was trying to convince the referee...dont even waste a min reviewing the scene!
Even Germany has been dragged into dirt and all its glory:(:speechless::speechless::confused:

yeah, some of us naive fools expected a storm but all we got was a mild breeze ... except for the first 25min. ... then we got this "the plug was pulled"-quote again [Kramer]... and that's the problem: Borussia's plug isn't tight sitting at all... even a crawling baby is able to unplugg it quite easily or even accidentially
I guess the Rose-team is gonna wonder how easily some of the players aer willing to cave in
I hope the club unreservedly strengthen's Rose's position and Rose isn't becoming involved in the players 'plot' at all

thanks, you too (and the others)... but you missed the glorious win over Guangzhou ;-)
something I've to get off my chest: I guess you were right about Raffael... I once wrote that 90 (or even 80)% of the old Raffael is still good enough for Borussia but it more an more seems that 50% is the max for the future... maybe a stand-by-player is all we should expect...

Hecking currently is telling everybody who wants to listen how strange and disappointing (and unjustified?) his release felt especially because HE HASDELIVERED: 5th place!... and anybody would have signed this goal that when season started
well right, I understand (that's plausible), but still I disagree... a season unfolds and then you have opportunities (or not) and then you grab them (or not)... sorry Dieter 18/19 we had plenty and... wasted them
interesting: acc. to Hecking he and Eberl met 2 only days before Eberl told him of Rose... and acc. to Hofmann nobody in the team saw it coming
anyway Rose called Hecking last week... I hope he find out about things we don't hear in press conferences and ppost-match-interviews...

last thing: I guess Eberl was so much pissed by your and Hans-Gunter's Hazard-objections that he's gonna sign an exact Hazard-copy, just being fond of his stubborness ;-)))
his name is Trossard! Belgian, small, fast, agile, headless? and (not?) icecold in front of goal...
at least acc. to media... but if Rose is gonna play with a diamond in midfield this winger might be the wrong track...

I'll be a bit "all over the lot" ie: random with this but your comments give pause to reflect.

An analogy: Over here, my domestic team is uncharacteristically in contention past the 1/3 mark, approaching mid-year. My domestic side has been unmitigated filth since its inception other than year 2. What changed? Coach?-nope. Money? :ROFLMAO:. Formation-yes, in part. Players? a fraction-but not the majority of the roster. It should be noted that the key acquisitions for the most part have failed to produce consistently, and the leading goalscorer of a year ago has been deported......................

What then? A: the new German GM. Love this guy-right now team MVP. No messing around.. Told the coach he had this year to get his head out of his rectum, quit the OJT *On the job Training* and get this squad into the top half of the conference( and the home playoff game that goes with it) and at least win that or go away. This coach has never been threatened with job security over 5 years because he has the cheap owner in his back pocket. Amazing what you can do when benchmarks are set in advance.....................

He also told this joker his default 4-2-3-1 was only to be used henceforth sparingly. Diamond 4-4-2 w/power press (Klopp, Klopp til they drop) now the order of the day. When the Mgr. decided to test him by continuing to play his favorites-who didn't fit the formation-the new guy transferred 1 before the season opener, then brought in a Dutchman from the French league who has become our version of Kante and they haven't looked back!!!!! He even traded our season goal leader "because he didn't fit" his tactics! The GM's! Still one square peg to remove, but that's coming-and hopefully we can regain first with a new coach and some new help by the All-Star break.

Our coach can revert to his beloved tree on one condition: When he brings in our 35 year old Brazillian mystic RAM-because he's too old, too slow but too damn important not to use off the bench as a sub. Guy is phenomenal. Loves to go 1 v 5........AND WIN ! Best playmaker, best passer on the club even now. Thing is; you know before the year starts he will get in 17 of the 34 games-and of those 17 will be a difference maker in half of them, disappear in the other half.

    * I've now had my say on 3 of the 4 areas of your post I've singled out.

    As to Rose:
I've previously asked w/o reply how he wants to play. Has he said anything to the German press there about that? To me, if you have to use.........................what you have there to use........probably makes no sense to form conclusions w/o seeing the parts likely to be available.

I do not hate Belgians, I am simply not particularly fond of that one. With our diamond, many at our disposal have the ability to play all across it. Do you think this signing could conceivably also play at the head-or is he strictly an outside L-cutter?

Well this Belgian waffle we had was only good when served with syrup ...cause i dought anything would lift him closer to a world class striker, not even a semi striker....i wonder what made BVB sign him...dont they have pockets as deep as Hollywood or close???Id even place Mo Dahoud above him..in terms of generally helping a team win games ( not position specific speaking only) Am really laughing at Fvare as well ( in my eyes he will sink even further to the bottom of the ocean with BVB during this new season) wanna bet money cause i am.I really have nothing personal against Thor...but he was never what we all thought he would be..ill even go out on a limb here and say if Drmic gets play time and some confidence builder he would be a much better player for a unit called a football team ( both in D midfield and at storm) than Thor...strikers that drop their head down and start speeding ..no matter how good their skills are will eventually be a liability...as i said BVB with all its money and attraction as a German club could have done much better...dont be surprised if he ends up on the bench ...but then he makes a great partner for Favre that jumps ships before his sailors! Cowards are a plenty in switzerland..no wonder they only survice off interest they make with other peoples money ...mostly money laundering etc ( hint hint)
Rose will change this team...or should i say a lot of players would wish they had left Gladbach when they could :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling::ninja::D:D:alien::alien::devilish::devilish:

I do this all the time!

but does this work all the time? ;-)))
no, right, a benchmark is needed especially when you have an even slight hunch that one or the other has become sleepy, replete, complacent... just doing their job but definitely not pushing the envelope (like with us and maybe with your team)
last season (oh no, season BEFORE last season) there was a podcast with the former candidate for German Chancellor Serdar Somuncu (despite being on the road 'all of the time' he manages to visit nearly all of our Home matches) and Max Eberl.... and Somuncu back then pointed out that for his liking the team and the club seem rather lacking in ambition... too reticent, not getting the best out of it (I don't remember his exact words) and Eberl didn't approve, of course ;-)... Eberl in this situations often is playing dumb (he's not!) and starts reciting mantra-like phrases like "Europa League isn't a matter of course!" and so on... but this IS NOT THE POINT! at the end it doesn't matter if the club finishes 4th, 6th or 9th (or maybe 11th) when the supporters feel they all gave their best (I have known a lot of less talented Borussia-squads but my degree of identification was higher with most of them) ...
so, looking back, 17/18 & 18/19 Somuncu was right!

I know him, Metz is my favourite french team, they are back in Ligue 1

all the best! (now -I checked- you have this Przybflnzmbzrtkjdfno-Guy: vowels are expensive in Poland! ;-)
I don't have a favourite MLS-team but I watch now and then... MLS was on Eurosport over here, then it was off since season started but now I can watch again (elsewhere)
[no favourite, but I have an affection for the Nebraska Bugeaters, l like fly-over-America, I like the 'Bush leagues' ;-) and I especially like their logo!]
back to MLS: Gulbrandsen of Rose's old club is another transfer rumor, he played for the American version of the international soft drink imperium (in 2017 I guess) but didn't make a lasting impression it seems... his key competence seems to be the will to work and win...bite! (you read this often when following Rose's tracks... Paderborn's Vasiliadis seem to be another one of this type...)

well done, I remit the last one ;-))))))))))

nope, he said nothing... no public statements at all as long as he was on Salzburg's paylist
apparently RB most often played in a diamond in midfield but Rose didn't stick exclusively to this... and he pointed out (before leaving S'burg) that his team has to be flexible: phases of ball-possession should alternate with phases of aggressive pressing and so on (maybe more later from my side)... and numbers (4-4-2 etc) aren't that important he said...
'inauguration-press' conference is on wednesday... we will hear more then but I doubt he's going into much detail...
Trossard looks like a winger to me but they say he's polyvalent... mentality? don't know... at least he was captain at Genk (they won the League)... and he is more or less a guy from the region: he can stay at home and reach Borussia Park within a one hour drive ;-)

by the way: the pessimists are already moaning about the 'Rose-hype', lamenting the fact he's coming from a 'minor' league... this is nonsense for my taste: 12 Euro-league-group matches, no loss! elimination of D'mund and Leipzig, only narrowly beaten by Marseille (penalty shoot-out) and (when already) still not letting go of Naples (a situation where our team would have switched long ago into their the-plug-is-out-alibi-style, that's for sure)

Thank you for the advance scouting. Maybe this Belgian will help them waffle opponents more than my psyche................
Rose----> flexibility = sounds good to me for a minute.
Every great mentor had to start somewhere. Happy to give him a chance, my eyes remain focused on Eberl.

Kacper Przybylko is pronounced Casper (like the cartoon ghost) Sha-bill-coe-at least here.
He even gets a laugh out of the fans coining him with the nickname (Cass-purr the friendly striker)
Seems like a really nice guy too :p

Jamiro Monteiro has played so well for us on loan the GM has conceded it will be hard to keep beyond this season. He also says looking at loans for talent every year may well be our best option financially......so when I consider my frustrations with BMG being stuck with the old and the broken........ * I know it doesn't make sense for Gladbach's situation, just explains my impatience with that F.O. (Front Office)

    Lastly;
Bugeaters. :D They get so mad when they get called that by rival fans. Just don't think you can sneak that "Bush league" crack by me.

The University of Nebraska Cornhuskers are a not too far removed POWERHOUSE in collegiate athletics. The change of conference affilliation has hurt them on the field in recent seasons, but they have great faith in a former star now taking over the reins to bring them back to prominence.
What is it soccer fans say-it's about trophies?

They already have quite a good number of them.................................

did I wrote 'paylist'? what's next? 'playroll'?

not advanced at all! I dig deeper in case of a signing

in his homeland Germany he is called "Pritsche" ;-)
there was an interview in KICKER two weeks ago (3 goals in one week for the city of brotherly love ;-)

by the way: Tanner (if I remember correctly) was the one who spotted Nagelsmann and the one who signed Mlapa (now playing for Gladbach's dutch 'suburb' Venlo) and Strobl! for H'heim ;-)
media called him 'hemdsärmelig' (~shirt-sleeved, but actually meaning: rough-edged) because there was a rift with some of their players
please ask him about Rose! ;-))) Tanner ("MLS is always underrated") was chief of RB's academy when Rose won the UEFA Youth League... I guess they talked ;-)))... a lot!
but having been an excellent scout and having worked for H'heim and RB? I don't like these clubs but I have to admit they are run VERY professionally... so, most likely a good catch for you...

we had Kramer & Christensen on loan ... and (*cough*) Oxford... (now at Augsburg)... not to forget the great Hinteregger (not that great at Borussia)
but that's a difficult subject, especially for the supporters, because few of us like it to develop players for other clubs...

the supporters of Erzgebirge (ore mountains) Aue call themselves 'Schachtscheisser" (pitshitters - or is it pitt-shitheads?)! they should make it official!

the bush league? a crack? yes and... NO! I even have problems to find out in which league they are playing! acc. to their site https://www.bugeatersfc.com/ they "compete in the United States Amateur Soccer Association (USASA)"; which I don't understand (competing in an association? where does this happen? in offices? still plenty of room to improve my English! ;-)... they play against NPSL teams but apparently aren't part of the league themselves... the US-soccer system is soooo complicated (and outlandish for Europeans)! the teams are switching from one league to another with the greatest of ease and each spring the leagues are getting re-branded ;-)

there was a previous version officially called 'Bugeaters' in the late 19th!!! century (I had no idea! college football this old! I accidentially stumbled over this when I was interested in the US-soccer-map outside the 'mega'-cities and when I found the soccer-bugeaters)...

Glad to hear Ernst left with due respect over there. Best GM they've ever had in the old homestead. The fact he doesn't rate some of our players is a huge +++++++ for me !

N: I was speaking of them in terms of our football rather than yours. A lot of big schools have to play smaller revenue sports in other conferences than their main one. They were Big 8 forever, which became the Big 12 when other schools were added and are now in the Big 10. Why leave? 1) Money. 2). New conference extends geographic footprint. 3). Academic reputation. In that order...........................

    * I will research their soccer program and get back to you on current conference affiliation should you wish to check on them from time to time.

    Rose PC:
Just looking at his PC quotes from the team site:

    * I think his mindset is going to look like I've seen here before:whistling:..........although formation not discussed-and I take heart in his comments about returning to the speed (aesthetics) with which the Colts once played. Thanks to him if true.

    * Seems to feel the key will be the buy-in of the squad who remain. Like Jurgen, he fancies himself a motivator. With this group, he better rank with the speakers who charge a fortune to hear in this country!

    * gives himself 3 years to get his program installed and sustainable (when he moves on I'd imagine)

    * left the door open for the possibility of "a few" new players..............maybe.........................:ninja:

    * Admits to looking for " a couple of power pressers" LMAO ! Now I can celebrate or cry in stereo !:ROFLMAO:
-if he can wait until January I think I know where he might find 1 of them. BMG can afford his fee/salary. Should call his friend:sneaky:

    Eberl:

They're playing in the Big10 now. Major college schedule by the looks of it, so it will be easy enough to find out about whenever you wish.

Also, that German word you used. Has multiple meanings depending on the dialect.

So: is he a piece of furniture, a comedian or a bed post with jokes? o_O
    * Had the game on his foot in extras last night, but toe poked it too hard on the lunge and put it over the crossbar. Word is he was very upset with himself after the game, sitting alone in his car and staring at the river for quite awhile. Hey, at least he cares.....................:(

    press conference wasn't exactly enlightening
ok, nobody expected Rose to drop his pants but those journalists!?! why are the travelling that far? just to get a warm meal afterwards? thosen questions? Do you want to become Meister like in Austria? or Where are you going on holiday? Whom are the working for? Housewife magazines?... it's like Klopp once said in D'mund: you ask stupid questions, we give stupid answers

Rose: he dropped some keywords: energy, dedication, greed, activity, speed, combination-soccer etc, things we all like but then he smiled and said: "Sounds awesome... if we make it happen."

ah, yes and he wants to be part of making Bundesliga great again...

some players of Borussia might wonder that they can 'powerpress' too ;-) Rose said but he spoke of 'dynamic' too... that's exactly what we need (not unconditionally Klopp's heavy metal style, which Klopp has moderated anyway)... like Mike Hanke said when watching our last match "Borussia is always at a [the same] trot"
Rose wants to "keep the good things" but implement "another kind of soccer" at the same time... that's a little bit like doing the splits but I'm very optimistic...
despite not enlightening press conference made pretty clear what Eberl and Rose talked about: the things which didn't exist in the past at Borussia (I think we all know...)
and he spoke of demanding these things in training again and again and not looking back (it's like Rangnick said some weeks ago: you have to pester the players each day!)... so off you go wellness-oasis! ;-))))
anyway: Eberl moved off the defensive a little bit: some of the players already suit Rose's style (Zak! everbody is predicting), some will adapt, some are not gonna make it he said... so I expect one or two 'forced/advised' leaves
but there will be no great upheaval... no, all of it step by step lasting longer than one transfer period... training starts 30th of june... I guess Rose after some weeks tells everbody of the players about their future prospects...

last thing: Rose spoke about 'identification'... this seems an important point to him... after being eliminated against Naples he said he was proud (!) that the supporters stayed to the end even when it became obvious that the 'wonder' wasn't going to happen...

p.s.. Rose met Raffa in the gym and liked that because Raffa officially is on holiday... forget what I wrote before, Raffa is gonna rock ;-)))

I will take a look, but I'm still confused because my understanding is they are not a college team... the just took over the name of the old football college team: 1) 1890s college football Nebraska Bugeaters --> 2) later renamed (?) Nebraska Cornhuskers and then added a few years ago a 3) newly implemented Nebraska Bugeaters soccer team
but maybe this all is the wrong thread here (I'm desperately looking to connect them to Borussia ;-) but I have only found a connection with Huddersfield town ;-)

"Pritsche"? I guess it's just a kind of ('meaningless') nick which dates way back...maybe (!) what his friends/teammates called him in youth... they just gave up to pronounce his name correctly and opted for the most similiar German word instead... but just my best guess, I don't know for sure...

watched some MLS-highlights before the CL-final started, against Portland he hit the post, too
the match against Minnesota has a reasonable starting-whistle-time (for Europeans)... maybe I have a look...

I actually think the press conference was pretty "ON-POINT" who would be our pressing machine though is a huge mystery to me....i liked his comments he is going to bring the kindda style we have been missing for years...i can also see a lot of young talent taking over...the guy means "business" u can feel it and i think our boys will finally experience they should really work very hard for their pay-cheque...btw the french kid will be Rose's target....i think we would see a lot of him.
I am very excited about this coach...Max really pulled out a miracle out of his sleeve by nailing Rose!!!!!
