We beat City, it's doable. Barca struggled when Messi was out, now they're firing on all cylinders. It's gonna be tough.
Genesio has to be out now. It was atrocious today. Honestly, it's needed to happen for two years. Time to off load Fekir and Depay. I'd prefer to see Aouar, Mendy, and N'Dombele stay at least another year and then work in a couple academy kids instead of off loading them to our rivals.
Agreed and honestly can't see him being kept on at this point, although still optimistic about holding on to top 3. That's more a commentary on the rest of the league than our performance this year.
The second half was poor. Nothing really created outside of a dangerous cross by Terrier. I'd let him go now to be honest. Concerned about a slip.
Genesio is leaving at the end of the season, but I suspect whoever takes over will have a bit of rebuild during the transfer window.
Squad needs a rebuild. Needs new blood. Really disappointed in the Mateta sale last summer. Depay, Fekir, N'Dombele are all likely gone this summer. That's a lot of cash for a rebuild.
Too bad they won't spend any of it. I htink JMA said they were going to spend 50m. Fekir and Depay have dropped in price, If we get 40m for both, that's amazing. Ndombele should be at least 60m if not 70-80. One of Cornet or Traore should be sold. Both are superfluous. Gouiri will be returning next season.
It's time for Fekir to move on at this point. Good riddance to Depay and his 1 good performance every 10 matches; if we can find someone stupid enough to pay big money we should sell immediately. We are being linked to Manchester United's Ivorian defender Eric Bailly, which I think would be a great signing. Although I believe we should sort out management before signing players that may not fit the new system. You mention Gouiri, and it reminds me I was disappointed to see so little of Caqueret this year, he looked excellent in the friendlies and maybe should have been given a loan if not ready for the senior team.
The final of the UWCL is at 12 noon ET / 16:00 GMT (Saturday). Lyon v Barcelona – the Lyon women's team are seeking their 6th European title since 2011, after winning their 18th French championship. The thread is on UEFA Women's Champions League 2018/19 https://www.bigsoccer.com/posts/37790077
Greetings from a misplaced Czech. Always good to see new activity for Lyon. Great start so far, hopefully Juninho can keep it going.
I think the overall quality in the squad from top to bottom is honestly the best I've seen since the title push from 5 or 6 years ago and I think this squad will be better.
Champions League, who do you want? For me Juventus, Ajax, and Genk would offer a good balance of easy travel, and competitive but beatable teams. If we draw Slavia, I may have to schedule a trip to the homeland.
Zenit and Benfica are decent but not intimidating, but it will be just our luck if we get Leipzig from pot 4.
We were very lucky today thanks to Timo Werner. However, we won the game and that's all. I consider Lyon must grab 1st place in the group.
Wow ,considering how poorly our season was going, it's hard to believe we've made the semifinals by beating Juventus and Man City.
