I'm not expecting Maryland to pull down the 2018 schedule (in favor of 2019) anytime soon, but some schools are already posting their fall schedules. Thus we know that ... Akron will visit College Park for a Friday evening match, September 13 @ 7:00 PM.
We'll piece the 2019 schedule one game at a time if we have to ... North Carolina will visit College Park on Saturday August 24 at 7:00 PM for a preseason exhibition match.
There was a time when this would've been a big game. St. John's made the NCAA Tournament every year from 1992-2013 except twice, and in that time made the College Cup four times, made the finals twice and won a national title. They had a MAC Hermann winner, a future World Cup player, several All-Americans and produced a handful of good pros, including one of the best MLS players ever in Shalrie Joseph. But the Red Storm are now an afterthought in college soccer, having missed the NCAA Tournament for 5 straight years, four of which were losing seasons. Should be a good chance for a W for the Terps.
St. John's returns an entire team (If healthy) including the Big East Rookie of the Year and another all-rookie team selection. Not saying they will beat Maryland, but St. John's seems to be moving in the right direction for a good game in Sept. They had a very good 2019 recruiting class.. Plus Dave Masur can coach with some talent around him. UNC will be a good test for Maryland.
Here's the press release for MD. Schedule page not yet updated. So much more reading... Also, no times listed.
