If you don’t follow this guy on twitter, you are missing out. He’s legitimately the funniest person I’ve ever read. A must follow for all Roma fans.
#Chelsea, #Sarri: "I can say that I won't go back to Italy at the moment. Premier League is the cream of the crop"https://t.co/Jxo0ms2EQK— Gabriele Romano (@gabriro91) May 11, 2019
The last coach to bring Roma a meaningful trophy, made the most points in a season in Roma history, top 3 in career wins. RESPECT THIS MAN!
Most goals ever for Roma, 3rd most goals ever in Serie A, WC and Serie A winner (unlike Spaletti, and maybe most important of all: actually gives 2 fcucks about this club! Maybe this man deserves more respect?
Totti has gotten his respect. Meanwhile one of the most succesful managers in Roma history is still disrespected by Totti Fans and the media. Spalletti can still coach us and qualify us for CL/win us trophies, you know, actually benefit Roma. Totti aint scoring any more goals for us, and his plan to lure Conte to the club was an absolute failure. He didn't even find out about it until the Interview was released on GDS. He makes 600k a year to do what? Give a couple of pre-game interviews? If Totti gave 2 fcuks about the club over himself he wouldn't have done that interview complaining that Spalletti doesn't play him enough, while we were battling for the scudetto. After that the relationship was ruined, and the media and Totti fans turned on Spalletti. Real classy (erm, I mean Toxic) move from Totti. Please. He's gotten more than enough respect in his career. He's literally a God in Rome. If he wants Roma to take the next step and get out of his shadow he should think about whats in the best interest of the club. But he won't.
“Spalletti is a great Coach, possibly the best I’ve ever had,” Totti writes. “And that applies to both his spells at Roma. In his first spell he was something more, especially for me, because he was a Coach with whom you could go to dinner and talk freely, without worrying about expressing your opinion. “We used to organise Briscola [an Italian card game] tournaments and the end of the season was up in the air because the final table hadn’t yet been decided. “So after dinner I proposed that those of us who were going to sleep at Trigoria should settle things. “The troops unanimously accepted and that made us forget about the clock. So it was only when someone knocked on the door we realised it was 5.30. “‘Who’s there?’ “‘Don’t be sly, Francesco’. I opened the door slowly, and I saw Spalletti with his index finger pointing at the clock. “‘Do you know what time it is?!’. “‘Boss, we’ll win tomorrow all the same, I’ll take care of it!’. “But Spalletti wouldn’t let it go, he moved me aside and came into the room. He sees [Stefano] Okaka, [Alberto] Aquilani and [Aleandro] Rosi and he can tell others are hiding in the bathroom. “So, halfway between surprised and disgusted, he says: ‘do you think this is normal before a match?’. “Spalletti went back to sleep, but he urged Rosella [Sensi, the owner] to make some punitive sales. Perhaps his phobia of cards that would go on to have a part in the controversy relating to my retirement began there.” No words.
I'm sure most of us are aware Totti wasn't a model professional all the time. I just don't want Spalletti. It has nothing to do with Totti. I've always been a De Rossi guy, anyways.
I don’t share your love for Spaletti but I agree this is just retarded. Staying up until 6 am the day before a game is not acceptable and Spaletti was 100% right in this situation. Totti has still done a million times more than baldy for this club though.
Spaletti is a B+ or A- coach at best. Totti is an A+++ player. Spaletti was here for 5 or so years, Totti was here for 20+ years. Anyone who puts Spaletti over Totti is a certifiable retard.

Antonio Conte e l’Inter, solo conferme: ormai promessi sposi, intesa di massima già pronta, ipotesi contratto fino al 2023 e una scelta voluta fortemente da Marotta. Il traguardo è vicino 🔜@skysport @inter #Conte… https://t.co/zj2ygpq0Gt— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) May 12, 2019 Conte to Inter. We got cucked. Spalletti got cucked. Match made in heaven. @Hustle and Flow
Why are people shocked at the Conte decision? Go coach in the champions league with an open check book? Or coach (maybe) in the Europa League with a team that has to scrape together pennies to purchase players?
I think any big name coach would want a team with deep pockets that isn't afraid to spend. Then you are left with everyone else.
Per lasciare a casa #Spalletti l'#Inter sborserà una trentina di milioni di euro, l'ingaggio di #Conte e del suo staff porterà l'investimento dell'Inter a circa 100 milioni di euro complessivi. Praticamente un top player - #DiMarzio pic.twitter.com/6KJX44Wb8j— Fcinter1908 (@fcin1908it) May 12, 2019
Spalletti is the best coach we could realistically sign for the team right now. If Conte signs for Inter we should definitely go for him. I don't know if there is really a Spalletti vs Totti situation going on right now. They had some differences, serious ones. The way Totti's last season was handled was far from being the best, but he has moved on from being a player now. As a director Totti has to think differently and take decisions that are best for the club. To be honest I don't know why some people hate Spalletti. Totti's age was a reality any coach would have had to deal with it. It was always going to be complicated to end his playing career regardless of the coach. Totti is a legend ,and he has done amazing things for the club during his career, but like every other player he wasn't going to go happily into retirement. It is a major blow to put an end to doing something you have dedicated yourself to your whole life. Luciano gave us three trophies during his first run (which are the only titles we have managed to achieve in over 10 years). During his second run he got back-to--back Champions League spots, and we finished second. Today there is a chance we will finish below EL spots. Say what you want about the guy, but he knows how to get his team to finish top four consistently (even if he doesn't manage to do that with Inter this time around). Those who are against getting him back really think there is a better candidate? Benitez? Giampaolo? Even if Gasperini agrees to dump a team he has being building for a while and with which he is about to achieve CL. He is a gamble, a good one, but far from certain. Same thing with Ten Hag.
