Lloris Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies Sissoko Lamela - Dele - Eriksen Lucas --- Llorente --- Son Tactical genius by Poch. Throw them off by playing the old 3-1-6 formation at the end.
well he had to do his job as well as Wanyamas, it seems I said a few weeks ago I didn't think Spurs could win without him
We've been running on empty for a while, small squad with injuries and a heavy, heavy workload. Anyone ever play the old Football Manager games? Never pick players to start games at less than 85% fitness. We've had to over and over, but after the Everton match there's time. Everyone fit, everyone firing, everyone 100%. Prepare properly, match Liverpool's incredible work ethic and intensity and we have the players to hurt them just as much as they do. Epic final coming up. IT'S ON.
HAVE THAT!!! HAVE THAT, YOU … YOU ANYONES WHO DON'T SUPPORT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR!! … I've not had my last pint tonight, by the way.
I still don't understand what happened and I guess I never will. I believe this is some deep cosmic battle of wills between Pochettino and the evil forces of Spursiness. Every time it looks like Spursiness gets a leg up (see Bournemouth game last Saturday), Poch fights back with a result like today.
I think Wanyama is done as a Spurs player, he doesn't run, he doesn't tackle and he doesn't mark - and he was one of our best mids 2 years ago.
Before the tie, my football head said Ajax would win and never in a million years could I have foreseen that crazy second half. It was great to see the Ajax crowd in full voice; as an older head I can remember watching some of the great Ajax teams at the old Olympic Stadium, that atmosphere reminded me of those days. I thought Tadic (Southampton are right dolts for selling him) and Ziyech were brilliant on the night.
So, after the game we went for our usual Wednesday night eating out. Naturally, I picked the only British pub/restaurant in the area. Part of what's funny about the place is they have scarves for Chelsea and Arsenal, and I think Man City and Man United. So, after we ordered, I went up to the bartender and said, "After today's Champion's League match, I think you need to add some Spurs gear to the place. Just a suggestion." https://www.yelp.com/biz/churchill-pub-and-restaurant-cresaptown
Unable to watch the games but followed results closely, today I followed the ESPN feed and this message board (thank you all for keeping us lurkers informed). Do I understand the road to the final right? Group Stage: Scored in the 85th minute of last game and Inter Milan got scored on in stoppage time of their game, so tied Inter Milan on points and won tie breaker on away goals. So TWO late goals in their favor and win/move on on away goals. Round of 16: Handled Dortmund, no real drama Quarter Finals: Scored in Stoppage time to take the lead on away goals, only to get scored on in stoppage time, but to have VAR disallow the goal and move on due to away goals. Semi-finals: Down 3-0 with 45 min to play and score in stoppage time (almost exactly at the 5 minute mark of 5 minutes added) and move on to the finals...on away goals. WOW! Simply unbelivable. Again please correct any of that if I'm wrong as I'm curious as the true dramatics of the whole thing, but if I saw that in a move I would laugh it off as something that wouldn't ever happen.
The late show theme is right but also missing the late equalizer by PSV in Eindhoven (leaving us with one point through three), coming back from 1-0 down with two goals after 78 minutes against PSV at home and scoring a late equalizer in the 85th minute against Barca.
Did you say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Somebody had to step up and carry this team through to the final, it wasn’t Son it was Moura on two massive shoulders... Unbelievable! Crazy week of semifinals...Get in there Spurs!
And just to remind everybody, Spurs are a team filled with players who played under pressure. The following players were in the semi finals of the last WC. So even though Liverpool have the experience of last year, Spurs are unlikely to be overwhelmed. Alde Vert Kane Dier Rose Trippier Dele Lloris
