The NASL lawsuit may last longer than the league did. The parties filed a joint motion this past week to extent the time for discovery beyond the time extended time they had originally been granted in January pic.twitter.com/eri9sNG1jk— Steven Bank (@ProfBank) April 27, 2019
Another team dropping out of the Founders Cup. I have heard from several sources that @Cal_FC is out of the Founders Cup. The financial strain would be too much for the club at this time, without additional investor backing. #NPSLPro #FoundersCup— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) April 29, 2019
Clearly a sign that they're not authentic or grassroots enough...or...something. Sorry, I'm still trying to get my Detroit City FC talking points down.
There must be armies of contract attorneys reviewing emails. Might as well be a zombie in the Night King’s Army.
Nah this is an example of MLS and USSF forcing them to not participate so the monopoly isnt threatened by real soccer teams and real soccer fans. I think thats what the few NASL fans would say.
Hearing from multiple sources that the Founders Cup is exploring sanctioning options that would allow them to break away from NPSL. The relationship with NPSL leadership has been difficult at times. Direct USASA sanctioning may be challenging to attain, however. #NPSLpro— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) May 4, 2019
I wonder how many of them were on board from the jump and weren't just sold a bill of goods Cal United obviously saw that this was not realistic and.bailed. It looks like Cal FC saw that, too. Another instance of the haves driving the bus and needing some have nots as passengers. Same thing they did in their D1 proposal when sanctioning got pulled.
With due respect to the Cosmos and Miami FC, if they lose either of Chattanooga or Detroit, that's a wrap on that
Oh, I think they might try to play, I mean, they have built it up so by this point. But if they envision this as being legitimate at some point, as something that needs gravitas to look like more than just The Two Crazy Rich Guys + Whoever Responded to the Text, I think they need Detroit and Chattanooga, the most viable clubs outside of the current establishment. (I don't put it past the prawns to spin absolutely anything that happens as a net positive, but I feel like they need those two clubs. Cal United and Cal FC bailing is a hit, but most of the "other clubs" are interchangeable.)
I kinda think this whole Founders Cup is just a way for Rocco and Ricardo to keep their "clubs" alive while they continue their suits. If they no longer have active clubs, it kinda hurts their case IMO.
