And then there was the guy with 2 hands on Brilliant's shoulders going up for the ball. Seems to me, thats a PK foul right there, if you want to split the same hairs.
Goff reports DCU has swapped its first 2020 draft pick for Dallas left back Marquinhos Pedroso. I hope this means we will get Arriola back up front where he belongs.
25 year old Brazilian, two appearances this year, one start— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) April 30, 2019
This is a win now move. I'd expect that Lucho isn't going anywhere unless the money is astronomical. The window might only be this year and perhaps next, at least with Rooney.
But is he a deckchair? I'm thinking if DC gets him for a draft pick and Minnesota keeps paying him it means he must be a deckchair.
He's totally a deck chair. He's gone next season if not this season should we get guys healthy or make some buys in July. The back line has blown through players like they were tissue paper the first 2 months of the season and this 6 game stretch has really taxed what little depth we had. We are dammed lucky Pines has been able to step in and be credible or better. He's still due some rookie mistakes and people need to remember that.
Oh great -- another defender, just what this team needs. When all those injured defenders return, I hope Kasper swaps out a few of them for a backup forward or another offensive midfielder. Or then again, maybe Olsen is tinkering with the 3-7-0 formation.
Imagine when Mora and McCann are healthy. Then we will be 2 deep across the back 4 and we can actually rotate players! Oh wait... thats assuming we had a coach who did that. But wait!!! Imagine how stocked our back line will be when both Fisher and Odoi-Atsem are healthy. Olsen will finally have his dream roster and lineup. Rooney + 10 defenders. All grit baby.
Isn't Lucho a free agent after 2019? He can go where he wants. You better cash till you can, the guy has checked out.
Exactly what I'm saying, GOING BACK to LOOK AGAIN can lead to a lot of different "opinions", some of which are legitimate. So what's wrong with just taking the first one and playing on? They have the technology, put a chip in the ball that buzzes if it breaks the plane of the goal line if you care about being perfect, that's not OPINION, most other calls are.
Things also look very different when viewed in slow-motion. VAR should be viewed in both slow and real time.

Crappy play also costs money. They're not going to be getting the lucrative sponsor/TV/advertising/merch sales if we're down to Loudon United + journeymen in June/July when Rooney has been run into dust and Lucho's long check-out hits the end. Injuries are bad luck, and its hard to do well if you have as many in one position as we've had. But seriously, we gave up only one goal last game even with our makeshift back line. Outside of Amarikwa (who does not exactly terrify defenses) our Forward corps consists of Rooney and a 16 year old. Everyone else -- Steiber, Lucho, Arriola are really wings/mids who could in a pinch be pushed forward. We don't even have bodies to throw at the problem, let alone good options. Is it time to call "Yow now?" My yelling "God Bless Amarikwa" haven't exactly yielded much fruit thus far.
But a goal isn't scored when the ball breaks the plane of the goal (that's pointy gridiron football) but when the entire ball has broken the plane.
two things you can do, #1 CHANGE THE RULE to make it when the ball breaks the plane, or #2, put the sensor at the point behind the line one ball diameter length.

I've lost respect for him with his pissy little attitude. Let's get someone in that wants to fight for the crest.
That wouldn't work, what if the 2 sensors cross at the same time, which is possible, the ball would only be halfway across. putting the sensor back a ball diameter would probably do it.
You'd have to be able to calculate the distance of each sensor back to the plane. If the two sensors are crossways, they'd have to each be 1/2 the diameter of the ball past the plane. If they're cattywampus, the same still applies, one would be more, one less, but the sum of the distances to the plane would still be one ball diameter at the time the ball fully crosses the plane. Putting the sensor back a ball diameter gives you the same problem, unless you have sensors all over the ball. But I'm sure they've figured out how to do this with cameras (?) and don't have to put sensors in the ball.
