I know why. It's in a book I've mentioned in the past couple of days and recommended in the book thread:

One of her points: the judiciary branch is not prepared to deal with domestic terrorism.

Take this for what it's worth:

A couple of guests on "Morning Joe" this morning basically said there are no domestic terrorism laws on the books making it very hard/impossible to charge someone with a crime who hasn't actually committed violence. Ironically, if you threaten to kill POTUS, you can be locked up.

The Speaker of the House? Meh.

What this comes down to is a choice by DoJ not to string this guy up by his nuts and throw him in GITMO. It's the most bare-knuckle sort of politics there is.

You want to threaten impeachment? The domestic terrorist who had an arsenal and Pelosi and Schumer on a kill list gets to walk free pending his trial.

Which means someone needs to send a signal and run the guy over or firebomb his house. Okay, that might be extreme, wink, wink.

That's dumb. I recall some people being charged with terrorism for photographing a farm because they were members of, like, the animal liberation front or somesuch.

    Those are state laws.

Seriously, folks, you’ll give yourself an ulcer if you think about this one too much.

The massive confusion in this thread makes it rough to even dip into.

As this is the catch all thread he denied he ever chucked a wood at Tiger. If you recall it was Elin who laid Tiger out with a 9 iron.

Well, that's ironic given that Tiger is best known for his monster drives, but he always stressed the importance of the short game in winning golf tournaments.

In fact, his short game was amazing at his peak. It was a damn marvel most of the time.

My older brother, who watches a lot more golf than I do, and who plays four to five days a week in his retirement, improved his game from his early 60s on by watching how Woods played his short irons*. That was something he had more of a chance to replicate in his own game, whereas if he had been younger, he probably would've been watching Tiger on the tee, then heading down to the range and wastinghours trying to duplicate that.

*knowing full well that a nine iron for Woods was likely a 5 iron for him, so adjustments were made accordingly....

He copied stopping short from Frank Costanza and that resulted in some sub-par years.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/...ng-suspect-new-zealand-mosque-attacks-revenge

"A terror plot by an Army veteran who converted to Islam and planned to bomb a white supremacist rally in Southern California as retribution for the New Zealand mosque attacks was thwarted, federal prosecutors said Monday.

Mark Domingo, 26, an infantryman who served a combat stint in Afghanistan, was arrested by federal agents Friday while finalizing plans to plant a bomb at a Nazi rally that had been scheduled Sunday in Long Beach.

Domingo was arrested on a charge of providing material support to terrorists and a criminal complaint said he had been planning since March to “manufacture and use a weapon of mass destruction in order to commit mass murder.”"

    I have two thoughts.

    1. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.
    2. This guy was charged with terrorism. The Coast Guard dude was not.
