Ok soccer gurus. I need some help. I was watching highlights today with a few work buddies. In the following clip of the Glascow Rangers game, second goal- the keeper takes a back pass from defender. Opposing player comes from behind keeper (he had made an earlier play on the ball and overshot it), and kicks it in for goal. Question asked- How is that not offsides? I told him that when keeper takes possession of a live ball, there's no offsides until he puts ball back in play. Was I correct? Since it was a pass back and not from the other team where the keeper could pick it up, I'm not sure
The IFAB rule 11 (offside) states, "a player in an offside position, receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage." No advantage = no offense That's my guess.....I am not a referee, and the last time I was, soccer balls were made of real leather.
I'm sure most of you saw this already, but this is how you go from 2nd and goal to 3rd and 93 (goal):

Not sure where to put this....Saturday, SRFC had artists paint the “scrim” around Papa Murphys park. Before the game, i walked the stadium with a superb adult beverage. Here are a few of my favorites.
Just out of curiosity, does everyone else see from the top of the forum's main page the last four videos posted as shortcuts to view the video, like this? I went to the tech support page and asked if there was a setting to hide these, but there is none. Just curious if others see this.
Yes, and I think we should have it turned off for this forum. I believe that's an option. This isn't a video forum, so it's stupid and distracting to have it there. Maybe I should renew my call to appoint a moderator who could take this to the admins.
OMG the comments on that video are comedy gold! "Taylor Swift's new album leaked before autotuned," "Still better than Nickleback" " it's like a child's artwork......it's crappy, but you know they worked SO hard on it." LOL
My favorite? "I've just unstrapped my artificial leg and hit the cat over the head with it." Thank you, guys, for making my weekend.
Probably amusing only to me. From NFL.com: "Denver carried a 17-0 lead late into the third quarter before Desmond King returned a Broncos punt 68 yards to the house to open L.A.'s account." I've never seen a journalistic soccer reference applied to American football before.
Good news, guys! We found a willing victim. I'm not sure who @Tifoso needs to ask about this these days. Let's ping @Ismitje and see if he knows.
