Game 2: Chicago Red Stars - Portland Thorns FC, Sat 4/20, 2:30 pm This is a Double Header with the Chicago Fire playing Colorado first at 12:00. Red Stars are unveiling a new uniform and the #1 Draft Pick in Tierna Davidson to the fans of Chicago. With both teams having their National and International players available, this should be a great game.
Wow! That word sums it up. CRS vs. Portland, yesterday, a 4-4 draw. First off, we watched the Fire comprehensively beat the Rapids 4-1. Very windy day and cold in the shade but warm in the sun. Typical April day in Chicago. Then the tasty dessert (CRS) followed the great meal (Fire). Of course, I am bummed CRS did not win the game and it almost happened in the last seconds of the game! Yuki! Yuki! I thought of Blissett watching this game at some point to relish the performance of Yuki. Two goals. Sam Kerr - one goal, Vasconcelos - one goal. I was impressed with CRS newcomer Katie Johnson (KJ). Although she did not score, she often looked dangerous and was involved in creating the PK that Yuki converted. I think as soon as KJ gets used to the team style/system she will be a huge contributor to CRS success. CRS looked good overall and the subs in the second half all were dangerous.
Yes, it's a shame that apprently she won't be at the WWC this summer. I had been impressed too when I saw her play in the previous two seasons and I agree with you that she gives depth and some different solutions to Chicago.

Saturday 8pm forecast 100% chance of rain temps 39 degrees with wind will feel like 29 degrees. Come on red stars postpone the game.
Now forecasting a big chance for sleet and SNOW! Maybe postpone until Sunday or a day in the future, I would agree! If not, I will brave the elements I suppose. Boy, attendance will stink.
You are a tougher man than I. Wind chill temps 24% snow and sleet. Why can't they postpone it until tomorrow or better in july or august?
Did anyone go to the game only to find out it was postponed. They knew the forecast couldn't they have postponed earlier?
Clearly the NWSL never reads the weather reports. They just show up at the game surprised when it's snowing, or there's a fire and the air quality is unsafe, or there's a hurricane.
Rescheduled to tomorrow sunday at noon when it still will be cold and going opposite of fire game on tv.
Just got home from the non-game. I was surprised at the amount of people there. I was expecting myself and a few other die-hards. The Club was open. There were fans up there mingling, enjoying a beverage, etc. We than walked out into the stadium waiting for the teams to come out when we heard over the intercom that the game is postponed. Fans were actually having fun in the snow. The field was completely covered in snow. I am guessing and don't quote me but this may have been a last minute referee decision. Snow/sleet was falling hard. I can understand the postponement. However, I don't know if I can make tomorrow's game.
Yuki I love her! Katie Johnson continues to impress. She had touches just before two of the CRS goals and posed danger, often. Sam Kerr could've scored at least two. Even goddesses have an occasional off-day It was a chilly day but much better than the night before to be at the game!
From NWSL website: Week 3 Player of the Week: Yuki Nagasato Nagasato had a goal and an assist in Week 3 BY JACQUELINE PURDYAPRIL 30, 2019 SHAREChicago Red Stars forward Yuki Nagasato has been voted Week 3 NWSL Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association. Nagasato scored a goal and an assist in Chicago’s 3-0 win over Reign FC on Sunday afternoon. She assisted on the opening goal in the 13th minute, laying off a pass to Casey Short, who scored from distance. Then in the 53rd minute, Nagasato scored a long-distance goal of her own. After Sam Kerr had her initial shot block by goalkeeper Lydia Williams, who had come to the top of the penalty box to stop Kerr, Nagasato sent the rebound over the keeper and into the open net. Nagasato finished the match with a goal, assist, one shot on target and four chances created. It’s the second time Nagasato, now in her third season with the Red Stars, has been named Player of the Week. The first time was in Week 10 of 2018.
