The draft is one of those things where you're going to miss way more than hit, even compared to a decade ago. No reason for anyone with pro-level talent to go the NCAA route when you can get paid more than the worth of your scholarship playing pro. Still, Mo Adams was pick #10 last year, so there will be some diamonds in the rough hanging around.

I'm Nellie Rodriguez, mainstay among the North American soccer landscape for nearly 20 years and stalwart rocker of the soccer world, and I approved this message.

Trade Niko or Dax for TAM/GAM, opens up a DP spot and then sign Valencia in the summer at RB. Rumor is an MLS team has offered him a 2yr deal. Yes a DP spot on a defender let alone 33yrs old is overdoing it but the team is built to win now. Attacking wise we are loaded, plus freeing the cap space up from Niko we can get depth at striker and maybe bring in another defender.....win win I think.

Dax is not a DP. Trading him would bring in a bit (less than 200k) in TAM and would open a spot on the field, likely for Mo Adams.

That is it. It would do nothing about DP issues.

    Trading Nikolic is f@cking stupid.

Trading him so we MAY be able to sign Valencia is idiotic stupid stupidity.

This. What is with people? We finally find a good goalscorer and everyone wants to trade him for a defender?

Nikolic has moved to third all time in goals for the Fire after 2 years! 2! He's averaging 21.5 goals per season in all competitions. That's with very little offensive help and a 10 game dry streak last year. Ante Razov averaged 13.4 goals per season with much better help. Nikolic's two seasons rank first and tied for third all time for the Fire in the regular season. What the ********?

Razov was very frustrating player. He scored plenty of goals, but he missed a ton of easy changes.

    I wish that would happen.
I really, really wish that would happen.
I would be very, very happy if that were to happen.

    ...but this

    https://www.goal.com/en-my/news/we-...ns-future-mls-move/1ndfplrgbq4z91pdskdq9tiq90

Mrs. Lewandowski wants LA, not Chicago.

I also think is probably 2 or 3 years away from making such a move.

He is still the primary striker for Bayern (still scoring at a rate of almost a goal a game) and captain of the Polish National Team.

If there's one player that would get the Polish population to go to Fire games in droves it would be Lewandowski. But yeah if we're going by what Anna wants he'll end up in LA when/if he moves to MLS.

Given that we still probably won't have signed any defenders, it'll be exciting at least...

I can see signing Hernandez for 2020, but not Lewandowski.

He is still a world class talent, scoring boatloads of goals, and making a ton of money in Germany.

Oh yeah, I'm sure that would ever happen....

More smoke on this story though. Maybe if Mansueto every gets 100% control and MLS really want to bring Chicago back to relevance...Money talks and more smoke to this story, even in Polish now.
