Well, if that's the case, I've got just the thing for you:

Also, are we in full @hangthadj Guarantee™ territory?

    Interesting from Jacob Myers:

    https://www.dispatch.com/sports/20190403/crew-sc--robinho-develops-immediate-chemistry-in-lineup

I know we've seen Meram flounder in the middle under GGG, but maybe he could spell Higuain from time to time under CB9K.

I really don't like the suggestion by others that Meram could be a back. Just no way he has the intensity and focus needed.

He's struggling on the wing. I do like his ability to turn with the ball and drive into space or make a little move to get free. When he pinches in he has his best moments in my eye.

That final ball/decision is lacking. He's not going to develop into a #10 at this stage of his career, but maybe 65 minutes here and there gets a little Pipa rest.

With his propensity to turn the ball over there is no way I'd trust him in the middle of the park. I hope he finds his meat hook again soon.

I’m super stoked about this game. I didn’t think I was going to be able to attend because of work so my mom was going to go with my wife and son. Turns out, I was able to go so I bought an extra ticket. My in-laws have been wanting to go once the weather cleared up so they are now going as well. They’ve never been to a game and are making a 2 hour trip from Pomeroy. Win by 2!!!

Jesus Christ with a side of rye toast, what in the thundering f*ck is wrong with some of you?

"Ooooh, oooooh, Mersm plays center mid for Iraq so he's a good candidate to fill.in for our Argie playmaker!!!!!!"

And people say I drink.too much. Compared to you guys I'm Billy Farking Graham.

That's like saying somebody played quarterback on their junior high team so they ought to start for the Steelers.

Here's a saying you need to memorize: In the land of the Lilliputians, even Pygmies look like giants.

Have you ever taken a look at the Iraq MNT roster? Almost all of them play in the Iraqi league which makes USL look like La Liga.

Aside that is from the guys who arent on ANY professional.team.

Here's a super secret inside scoop: the Iraqi national team BLOWS SOGGY DONKEY SICK.

Being their best player is like.having the biggest cock in the Unsullied army

Meram as a center mid/playmaker. A guy who can't hit water from the f*xing beach

    Great idea. Idiots.

    Meram's not the answer.

We haven't had anything approaching a great "Argie Playmaker!!!!!!!!" since maybe 2015.

Did I say " great"? Did I, Gray Worm?

Put words in my mouth again and you'll be munching on knuckles marinara.

Say what you want about Pipa but the day before he dies at age 98 he'll be able.to beat shit out of Meram on a soccer field.

I posted the article, so I will assume most of this is directed at me (and my tiny penis).

I'm not advocating for Meram to replace Pipa. I also agree that Meram kind of sucks and starring for Iraq isn't a feather in anyone's cap. People around here are freaked out about Pipa's workload though. I still think Sosa (when fit) should spell Pipa, but he can't even make Porter's bench, so that seems unlikely.

I saw that article and thought, maybe that's something that could get a bit of rest for Pipa once or twice this year to keep him fresh.

There aren't solutions. He's one of a kind. I thought he had a very good game v Atlanta, that it was played at a snails pace certainly helped. I fear the no replacement and no ability to play without him is a problem and could bite us.

By the way, since we like to whine in here about how much Mother Nature hates the Crew, I just want to note that it's raining today, and will rain on Sunday, but tomorrow's supposed to be dry and in the upper 60s, with maybe even a hint of sun.

You cannot drop him back like Pipa. It would be more of a 2nd/withdrawn forward in my view. Get him the ball in advanced positions and let the threat of the meat hook open things up.

Trust Trapp, Artur, and Santos in the buildup.

Well, yeah, but that's pretty much always the case in MLS, right? Not a lot of teams could possibly afford to have two, starting XI quality creative midfielders on the roster, with one held back in reserve. Nor can most (any?) clubs reasonably expect to develop players of that caliber via their youth structure. For the most part, when clubs need this kind of player, they go out and buy him.

We didn't have a back-up for Schelotto, either. Look at the roster from 2011 and there's a glaring hole. First half of 2012, too. Then we brought in Higuain, who managed to finish 3rd in goals scored that year, and had the most assists (by far) despite only playing in 13 games.

Having no back up for Higuain on the roster is a feature, not a flaw.

    Credit where due dept:

The team (and it was them) got with DirecTV and/or Fox and got the SE Ohio blackout issue fixed. Nobody down here gives a fat crap about anything at all in Cinncy. Might as well be another planet.

ESPN+ is still blacking out replays of Crew and FCC games here in Columbus. I'm guessing that's the new reality.
