Gonna be a beautiful day. I wish I could attend, but cannot. I have the Tuesday game earmarked though.
Be sure to enjoy a pre or post-game meal at a fine European-themed restaurant. Don't pass up the escargot au beurre Persille, boeuf bourgignon, and salade Nicoise. Enjoy!
It’s been a while since we could say that. I’ll be in DC gear watching with my son in his LAFC gear. James
My first time starting a game thread and I botched the link to the baby animal. How about this one? https://www.pinterest.com/pin/307722587015839434/?lp=true
This should be a good game. Or just a blowout by either team. Probably depends a lot on the forst 20 minutes. I only saw like 10 minutes of one of their games a few weeks a go so I really have no idea how dangerous they are. They're first in the west, but the west is famous for their top 3 or 4 teams in the playoffs being useless in March/April so being in the lead there right now may not mean anything. I felt we were slow in thought (and many of foot) in the road win against Florida Men so Benny and Chad had something to stress in practice this week. We did practice this week, right? We'll really miss Mora and I expect them to test that side, hopefully the new guy's up t it, he seemed competent if not a little surprised to be playing Prediction (s) DCU - 3 LAFU - 2 I will wish I had brought rolaids for the last 15 minutes..... It might be this one? it may be pinin' for the fjords
I'm doing a DC doubleheader on Saturday - United vs LAFC, then Caps vs Islanders. I hope I'm not hungover on Sunday.
This one is as big as early season MLS matchups get: • DCU is in 1st place in the East. LAFC 1st in the West. • Both teams are undefeated (one draw each). • Only one goal scored on DCU in four games. • LAFC has scored a league-leading 15 in five games. • National broadcast on FOX • Audi Field will be sold out. Gonna be fun. Vamos United!
do the field level seats in F16 (in front of the athletic supporters) qualify as club seats at either the Heiny or the Eaglebank clubs?
Wildly off topic but bear with me. Anyone notice how similar the UVA basketball play that got them into OT (and eventually the final four) was with the Rooney-Acosta play that got us a desperately needed result last season? Take a look at them back to back - they both look more like something from a computer game than real sport. Speaking of basketball, I think Buzz Williams will rue the day he left Va Tech for Texas A&M. At Tech, for the next decade he would have dueled UVA's Tony Bennett for the top of the ACC and together they would have eclipsed Duke and UNC in national prominence. I'm not even sure what league Texas A&M is in. Great early season match-up with LAFC. I still can't quite believe that we're back in the conversation so suddenly. Rooney's free kick goal in the last game was a thing of beauty.
He's from Texas. He had been on the A&M staff. It was inevitable from the time he first got to Blacksburg. Tech could match the numbers post taxes and it wouldn't have mattered. He's a Texas guy. The only other school that had a chance was Texas. The SEC has some good coaches.
The program that they're distributing at Audi field says that our record all time against LAFC is 7-9-5. How did I miss over half our matches last season being against them?
