My main criticism of loew is he fails to replace players when they need replacing, just blind faith, 2018 world cup was typically "the curse off the champions ", we lacked the 5% of intensity , mentality, and the will to win, and as I pointed out above we had a few past the prime

    Exactly

And thanks to lack of transition, suddenly he's ripped that heart out of the side so there is no experienced core with Neuer also flakey

Very true, his man management side of the job is bang average, and in this day of age this is paramount

    Yep

The likes of Goretzka, Sane and Tor Stegen should have got a lot of game time in 2018

One or two of the older players would be good squad options

But instead he's had to trash basically the whole squad in two culls

Yes agree, hummels experience certainly would be critical, just imagine if the Dutch put our backline to the sword, then surely by backing himself in to no man's land by virtualy sacking 3 three bayern legends he can't go back to them

From the outside it looked like Germany mostly needed a good striker. They still played well but nobody could score to save his life. It's a problem they still have and you could see it coming for years.

Germany downfall was a bit overstated. They weren't that bad at WC 2018, just playing too high on the pitch and not finishing so getting killed by counterattacks. They actually had tons of chances.

Gutting the team by retiring players is rarely a good option. As a French fan who endured post 2000 France NT, it seems to me things got better in 2006 mostly because older legends like Vieira or Zidane were still there. You need older players to help the younger ones.

True, but it's normal for the defending champions lacking the odd %, history suggests it's crucial and factual, we were bang average against Mexico, Sweden looked there for the taking and we laboured same with s.korea, we lacked intensity and sharpness in all them games which proved to be the critical percentage, but I do agree since kloses retirement we lack a top class goal scorer and im afraid loew is being unfair on werner who certainly isn't what we lack

Werner's age doesnt help,Klose for one was 24 in 2002 WC his 1st tournament. Strikers tend to get better with age,

but Low's big mistake is his refusal to call up another striker. We need another set option at least, he tries Uth/Petersen and Uth didn't deserve a call up too. You got Kruse who's blacklisted as well, that's one less option.

Loew's main problem is that he never settled on a starting 11. He would experiment during qualification, friendlies and even early tournament rounds. The second issue is his stubbornness with starting certain players - Goetze and Draxler. He also failed to utilitize a great #9 like Gomez. He played Gomez when he should not have and benched him when he should have started him.

It’s a front three with Gnabry,,Goretzka and Sane

U watched England the other game? Kane was always in midfield for build up n dropped back to AM, then two wingers become inside forward n get into the box to diverse scoring points.

So instead of one CF, there are suddenly two (during interchange), then CF can move to AM for build up

    Very mobile front three

Liverpool with Firmino, Bremen with Kruse and Ajax with Tadic also playing that role. Stindl for Gladbach n Benzema for a Real Madrid too

I think Reus can be an X-Factor in second half

I guess totall cruise through the qualifiers and winning the confederations cup with the youth added all this confusion

Interesting lineup. I expected Reus to start. Loew is giving himself 2nd half with Reus, Warner, Brandt and Gündogan.

we need to win this, at worst a draw. Can't start qualification with a loss that's for sure. But we really need to win to least set the stage for the year of 2019.

I prefer Gundogan starting and would be nice if Klostermann are there

If u look at how Firmino, Kane, Tadic and Kruse play at striker, always shift back from CF to AM for build up then get in the box At times

Stindl n Benzema do that too... maybe Goretzka will play that role

I think we need Klostermann at RWB, n I think Gundogan is better than Kroos

    That's our biggest lack.
Most goals at World Championships Top 10 list there are 6 Germans. Sounds weird but that's why we've always been successful in big tournaments. If you have players up front that can score goals then that's half the battle. But that applies to all top teams.
No matter if Germany, Brazil, Real Madrid or Manchester United.
