Not saying he didn't do well on the goal, but, you are too easily impressed.:)

It was really fun to watch the kids get a run out. Fuentes, Cowell, and of course Thompson were all really exciting. I wish Wondo had gotten to play with the youngsters, since he spent most of his time slipping into the midfield and making passes to hopeless recipients. I was also hoping Haji would get a few more minutes.

If we could include this friendly, Cade would now be a leading goal scorer for the Quakes.

Cowell looks ready to me. Better than some of his own MLS teammates for that game (hello Wondo).

Danny Hoesen got his green card. Quakes say another international spot is going to open up soon.
So who do you think it will be?
    1. Magnus
    2. Kashia
    3. Vega
The other choices are Cummings, Espinoza and Lopez

Vega has been here longest and has probably been working on it for a while. Cummings has been here next longest, and Magnus next. Vako already has a green card. Kashia has been here long enough that he might be able to do it.

    I'll go with Vega.

    We still stink either way.

I was thinking the same thing: Vega. But it’ll probably be Magnus. Maybe the Quakes need to get him a green card so he’ll look more attractive to other MLS teams?

The only way he'd look more attractive to other team is if those teams are visually impaired. (No disrespect to anyone intended here.)

Yes, you're right, I intended disrespect to Magnus, but he's supposed to be a first division soccer player, and clearly, he's not.

I'm hoping they just revoke his visa instead. I don't care if he still holds a roster spot and I don't care if they have to continue to pay him. I just want him to be officially unable to play so we all don't have to wonder why he gets time on the field.

Everytime I see Vako's salary and how he is making twice more than Wondo, I cringe....

Thought I read we only have two DPs now (Vako and Wondo)... Magnus' salary would confirm that.

Hummm. I wonder if all the Eriksson intrique preseason was a salary renegotiation. Playing a little hardball, I.e. either take a salary more commensurate with your worth or we are selling you to team x back home. Their offer is sitting right here on the table.

Guram Kashia at 32 is making $590k and hasn't played hardly at all. Is there a transfer in the air?

I pretty sure it was like with Matias Perez Garcia deal. Both counted as DPs their first year because of the transfer fees. While well compensated neither got DP salaries.

One could look up last years salary to confirm that but that sure seems like a lot of hard work compared to just spitballing hot takes

Although Magnus was originally announced as a DP I don’t think he ever was. Even during last season the MLS roster page never counted him as a DP. My guess is the quakes decided to use allocation money to pay the transfer fee. I believe that’s possible as long as his fee was under 1.5m

Look how the Quakes word this (from latest ambition report)

They specifically say they had 3 DPs in 2015-2017 but they use different wording for 2018.
Along with the fact MLS never counted him as a DP. Pretty sure he was never a DP.

Not that it matters - other than announcing him as a DP raised my expectations of what to expect from him.
