Although the season has just kicked
off..with both new york clubs struggling out of the gate this could be a big 6 pointer in the east...off setting nycfcs slow start is tfcs bye week again..team will likely be sluggish with the break..really cant see reason tfc
Could not play this week while other mls clubs played..screw the intl break..
    Keep on playing..

There are fewer games on a week with an international break but there should be no games at all. An added benefit for TFC is that even with the little bit of playing time Jozy Altidore received, the extra time off could only be beneficial for him.

Agreed on jozy..but we and every other mls club could have still fielded squads to play

No club should have played this weekend. It's not about whether they could field a team, it's about whether they should. MLS should respect the FIFA match calendar.

Fifa intl calender has to either be shortend or made more convienant..not just to suit euro nations.
Concacrap is also to blame hacing the silly gold cup every 2 years..going to every 4 would be better..canada woukd play less not that they are playing a lot

It suits the whole world except MLS just fine.

That said mls plays at different time then the rest of the world so fifa should adapt..fifa dates could take place in tbe off seasons..

We should also see Pozuelo for the first time. Given that this is a home game and that NYCFC has not been lighting it up so far, I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.

I still worried about the poor keeper we have.
Having a new dp is nice and all but we really need to fix the no 1 keeper position..vs nycfc we will have ti score twice as we will conceed at least one

As usual, you are overstating the case. If Bono is good enough to win an MLS Cup, he's good enough to start in MLS. Point conceded that he had a strong team in front of him but I still stand by that. Bono is good enough. If they are going to spend money, it's better to spend it on additional defensive depth than a keeper.

    So, wow! Wow!

I realize the team probably won't play like that every night but that was a comprehensive demolition of NYCFC. And I imagine even neutrals would have really enjoyed the display of skill.

Obviously Pozuelo gets major credit but the whole offensive squad was clicking last night. Some great passing, great communication, great runs off the ball. Bring on more of that!

The thing about that game is that the 4-0 scoreline actually flatters NYCFC. It could have easily been 8-0 or more. The ball off the post was the only time that NYCFC looked like they were even in the game.

I thought it was a very good performance, we looked sharp on the ball for long periods of time and Pozuelo really made a good introduction to the MLS and the club. If we could add another attacking TAM player who take pressure on Jozy to score we can be a very good side going forward this season if we stay fit.

By all means a TAM player (or two) would only strengthen the team.

I would have preferred to see Hamilton in instead of Deleon in terms of attacking punch. They officially lined up with one striker and a five man midfield. I could also have been Altidore and Hamilton ahead of a four man diamond midfield with Pozuelo at the front, Bradley at he back, and Osorio and Delgado (or Chapman) on the sides.

The 5-man midfield worked brilliantly. Why change what is working? If they stop playing well, then shake it up. Vanney messed up by playing a 4-3-3 in the CCL. While there was no Pozuelo yet, TFC's most skilled players are in the midfield so they should play to their strength. If he played five in the middle in Panama, I think the result could have been different.
