You're talking about Jim "leave one sub unused" Curtin here, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Brothers 30th birthday so I'm (un)fortunately going to miss this one. Bonus: My tickets sold on StubHub for just $1 below my STH face value.

    1. Get ball to the wings.
    2. Let outside backs run down the field.
    3. ?????
    4. Turn the ball over.

Much ado about nothing so far. The U look okay in possession but are doing very little with the ball so far in the final third.

The Crew announcers are annoying. They kind of act like the match is incidental to their conversation which is often about everything other than the doggone match.

    HOLY SHIT...A DAVID ACCAM SIGHTING...

    1 nil.

    Doop.

Accam just squeaks it inside the far post. 1-0 Union.

Is this an aberration for Accam, or can he consistently score again?

Accam gets a second. 2-0 Union

David Accam just doubled last year's goal tally.

    Double doop.

3 nil to the good with goals either side of halftime. The cynic in me thinks this will end 3-3.

It's a bad night for Columbus when Higuain is getting frustrated being Gaddis's b*tch

Really rooting for Fafa to get a goal after the nonsense he had to deal with last week.

A good performance and three points. Glad I won't have to listen to the Crew announcers too often. Total homers.

I especially love how when the Union are up 3-0, they're sitting there like "For the Union, where do they go from here? They're being outpossessed, they're being outshot... You can't keep this up for an entire season!"

    And I'm just thinking:
1.) Have you ever watched us?
2.) Do you actually think we're good?
3.) Your team is losing 3-0 to this team, think how bad that is!

One of the few times I picked the win. Nice work all around.

Tough call for Accam going forward, but he certainly deserves some more chances to see if this was a one-off.

Give Curtin's past selections we will see Accam and Picault up top for at least the next 10 games regardless of their form. Barring injury or suspension there will be no squad rotation and Burke will be on the bench...May not be the wrong choice to give Accam a shot but that run is likely to be at least 10 games regardless of how he performs.

I love David Accam and I'm glad we could celebrate him and his father last night.

If he returns to his past form, the Union could be a playoff team this season.

I don't expect Accam to be the long-term solution (it'd be nice if he proves me wrong), but it's interesting how Burke misses a game and the Union score three. Need an upgrade.

It's amazing how we can score a few by putting the ball at the feet of a "striker" already in a dangerous position and before the defense can get set instead of moving up the flanks or "holding things up" while the other team gets 10 players setup behind the ball. We better capitalize on this strategy before it takes over the rest of the soccer world.

Seems to be a curse with the Union. Guys come in, score a bunch, then disappear. The guy who replaces them goes hot, then disappears.

Other than LeToux (who honestly ran hot and cold, also) we've never had a year-in, year-out scorer.

QUIET!!!!! Jimbo is a tactical innovator and genius for being the first in the football world for thinking of this. We, the members of this message board, are clealy the only people who are onto him! Try to keep a lid on it so no one else figures it out and starts to develop strategies to nullify the Union's strategery!

It occurred to me how quickly the Union's splashy buys usually end up on the scrap heap. Adu, M'Bohli, Simpson, Accam. They've barely arrived before they are surplus to requirements or at least out of contention for whatever reason. Fully expecting Fabian to be the next one...

    Soumare.

So, Brendan Aaronson's mom (and her friend) sat behind us on Saturday. Sweet lady, but damn could her son do no wrong. When he went down late in the game, she definitely panicked. Kept commenting how one of the Crew's defenders - Jonathan? - was a "big boy".
