from his instagram he's German-American. from his pictures he looks like Maurice Malone same surname, same club seems very likely to be his brother. he's a 03 keeper in Augsburg U16 team. Wasn't in the team photo but 2 other keepers were and they start playing in 2 weeks. Whether he's 1st choice or 2nd or 3rd, who knows. according to fupa, kid was at Konigsbrunn in the U15 level in the 2017-2018 season. Where he played 22 games and 1540 minutes.
Maurice started, played into ET before being subbed out, in a 1 - 2 Augsburg U19 win at Mainz U19 in A-Junioren Bundesliga Süd/Südwest
Maurice started, played 89 minutes before being subbed out, in a 1 - 0 Augsburg U19 win over Bayern Munich U19 that featured YAA Chris Richards (90) and Justin Butler (32 min) in A-Junioren Bundesliga Süd/Südwest
Sorry for my ignorance but i just heard of this kid on twitter today. How good is he? What are the chances that he chooses US over Germany
we have to wait to see how he does as a pro. It's too easy for players to do well in U17/U19 only to fall off once they reach the pro levels. Malone is provisionally capped tied by Germany and is youth NT eligible until the 2023 U21 Euros. That's basically 5 years from now, you can see why this thread is mostly dead.
Unlike most German-Americans, he prominently displays the American flag on his IG profile page. But he'd have to file a switch first.
Malone is part of the Augsburg 1st team Winter Camp. I think Malone if he impresses in Camp could maybe have a shot at 1BL chances soon. Only reason for that isbecause he's lucky that Augsburg have 2 players that will be playing in the Asian Cup that starts this weekend. AM Koo and CF Ji, both also have expired 2019 contracts, so spots could open up in the Summer once he's done with U19.
played 30 minutes in a 3-1 win for the 1st team. Didn't score or assist as all 3 goals happened before he came on.
made 1BL bench for the 1st time this season although unused. Still no debut, also made 1BL bench once last season also unused. Wir wollen Euch kämpfen seh‘n! Malone started for the 1st team in a friendly vs 2BL club Dynamo Dresden. Played 59 min. and Malone scored the Winner in a 2-1 win, SIEG! Der #FCA schlägt @DynamoDresden im Testspiel durch Tore von Johnny Schmid und Maurice Malone 2:1! 💪 #fcasgd pic.twitter.com/5LUTttNLM9— FC Augsburg (@FCAugsburg) March 21, 2019 type of thing that could give him his debut even more once Augsburg are 100% safe from relegation battle.
Here's the goal. Around the 48:30+ range of the vid. it's a nice one scoring while having his back to goal!
He still on Germany's radar with the U19 team or he would prefer to wait for a call from the United States? I doubt that the U20 team will try to call him now, but maybe he prefers to wait for the MNT
fan view of Malone in today's 1st team game. "Malone is incredibly strong.Good running ways, uses his body well, technically good. Everything to see at his goal. The youth player at the FCA who gives me the most hope." also that he had slow start but got into it more.

that's a good thing, clubs like Augsburg, Mainz and smaller clubs usually players don't go U19 to 1st team. They will spend a good amount of time in II before they become 1st team regulars. Makes sense they want players to play vs adults and get some experience to help them out. so he's finally taking the 1st step in his career. and he scores on his II debut!!! ⚽️JAA TOOOOR!
