Agreed, although I would probably go with Celustka over Kalas just based on recent national team performance.
Starting to get a little nervous about England. I worry we will get blown out. No idea how we will line-up. Our lack of center mids makes me think Jankto will actually be at CM.
I would probably go: Pavlenka Kaderabek - Suchy - Celustka - Novak Selassie- Dockal (or Darida)- Soucek - Jankto Vydra Schick I've only ever seen Vydra succeed as a 2nd striker, so would avoid any temptation to play him on the wing. If we go Defensive instead and Darida/Dockal isn't fit then I'd put Pavelka or Kral in a true defensive midfield position instead of a 2nd striker but otherwise keep the same. Either way I expect us to lose something like 0-2 or 1-2 (if we make our shot count), if we can sneak a point or certainly 3 then great, but our qualification route is through the other teams more so than England.
Darida wasn't called up so that makes our midfield pretty light. I forgot about Kaderabek. Would rather see him or Selassie at right mid in my team. I also agree about Vydra, but who else plays the wing? Also Dockal is the captain so he will certainly start, so he takes the #10 role.
Darida was added to the squad late, and actually now most likely have to start if fit for sure as Dockal won't be able play tomorrow, hasn't recovered from injury that kept him out of Sparta's last match. The most likely starter at right midfield if we don't play one of Selassie/Kaderabek there would probably be Vydra at his weaker position or Zmrhal, who after some promising seasons in his early 20s leveled off at just average in my opinion. Masopust would be the other option, but think Zmrhal would get the start between the two although they are battling for minutes at the club level.
I'd expect a midfield of Pavelka and Soucek with Darida ahead of them based on the previous teams Silhavy has fielded. I do like the idea of Vydra playing behind Schick, though I'd rather try that against a weaker opponent where there isn't as much of a defensive emphasis.
For sure, and I'd hope to see Kral from the start in that game. Though starting Koubek in goal might not be a good idea considering he has two of our worst defeats in history to his name...
To be honest, I've seen Koubek a few times this year and he seemed to make one big error in each match, so I might give Kolar a chance for at least a half. He made some big saves against Sevilla, although he is too quick to come off his line in my opinion.
Pavlenka imo is the best keeper we have. Vaclik is a close second, but Pavlenka is younger and has a higher ceiling. Koubek is still very inconsistent.
Yep, I guess Suchy isn't fully fit again or maybe just sticking with what mostly worked in our last matches. Tuto sestavu připravil Jaroslav Šilhavý pro kvalifikační souboj s @England 🏴🇨🇿 pic.twitter.com/I7owyLzZkI— Česká fotbalová reprezentace (@ceskarepre_cz) March 22, 2019
So is England's kind of, or at least a very direct one as they have both Dier and Henderson starting in midfield.
I still feel Suchy offers too much experience to be left on the bench, otherwise the lineup looks good. I think we can make things difficult for England with a sharp, organized defensive effort and taking our chances.
Was able to clearly hear the traveling Czech supporters on the broadcast a few moments ago. Very dull first 10 minutes though, dull is probably how we'd like to keep it. Also Bulgaria and Montenegro drew earlier, which is probably a good result for us.
Agreed, we've looked okay going forward the two times we've done it. Need to take some direct chances and give Schick more chances to hold up and wait for reinforcements.
Weak penalty call, but doubt it really matters in the end. We are missing too many pieces to mount a challenge in England. I do think we are still organized enough to finish 2nd in this group, and hopefully over the next 2 years some players develop... as opposed to this year where many of our players went the other direction (Barak, Jankto, Krejci...)
Vydra coming on for Jankto. I don't understand that move AT ALL. Take off Soucek or Pavelka. Push Darida a little deeper. Now Vydra is just out of position.
Seriously. BS penalty Clearance goes off our own player perfectly for Sterling to finish Shot deflects off our player into the goal I mean we really couldn't do anything for these.
