This is the correct answer. Either be a part of the solution and help build the team and attendance or don't...but if you don't then don't whine about the attendance and blame the other fans.
Just taking a quick look at the Atlanta single seat availability it looks like there are already more seats sold than today. I think everyone expected today's attendance to be low, but not as low as it was. I'm disappointed but I still think late spring/summer will be where this season's attendance trajectory is seen.
I get being disappointed, I am. But I plan to try to figure out how to get more people to games, post on social media, and invite friends to come with me. What I don't like is the screaming and whining, literally saying we should have lost the team. If you are that upset contribute to the solution. Now I am going to go celebrate the win and how awesome this season has been so far.
I think cbus 20 was the guy who still thought we were moving until the literal official press conference with Dr. Pete and the Haslams. He's a negative guy, and shitfaced, let's give him a break. Nah.
I'm surprised it was under 10K. I also watched it from home but paid for my season seat so I'm counted as attending in MLS land. Does the team still do the perfect attendance thing?
This five year old is my Crew Fan spirit animal. How he exits Crew Stadium since Crewsmas. I hope we never forget an armband. I tucked a couple extra in the diaper bag just in case.
My bad guys. I exchanged my two tickets out for a later game. I’m sorry attendance wasn’t better. I’ll be there next time.
I sold mine. Spent the day bar hopping. Seems I wasn’t the only one. Tell me again why anyone cares about attendance?
I'll do my absolute best to bring ours for you at the Atlanta match. God knows they're just going to get lost in our house.
Started at Fado Easton then Flanagan’s in Dublin. Then when to a traditional Irish dinner at a friends house.
But we didn't. (I really just wanted to quote you so that you'd get another stupid notification saying your post had been quoted, and then you'd get all hopeful that someone took the bait and started a keyboard war and then you read this and get a little bit more sad)
We were in a limo and the plan was to hit a few more but some of the others couldn’t pace themselves. Had to cut it off early.
I did contribute to dialogue. I stated how ridiculous it is that under 10k showed and how all anyone does is make excuses. Pretty sure that’s all fact. “Immediately succeed” like we are a new team? That’s laughable. Look I get it, precourt sucked and did harm to the fan base but under 10k is a joke. I can get more people to come to your birthday party and I don’t even know you (yes that’s a joke). Also, I agree with you that we are starting over from a sales perspective and that is also a fact but I am sticking wity my opinions and if you don’t like i don’t really care. I’ll say it one more time. UNDER 10K ATTENDANCE IS LAUGHABLE AND IF YOURE NOT GOING AND MAKING EXCUSES YOURE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
[emoji23] Not my limo so I was along for the ride. FYI, the guy that owns the limo company and was hosting us is a Liverpool fan.
I'm guessing ownership cares how many paying customers they attract. You'd have to be an idiot not to care about attendance. I had a great time at the match. The weather was better than two weeks ago. It was actually a pretty nice day in mid March to watch a match. But anyway you slice it, our attendance is embarrassing. I'm shocked we didn't crack 10k, since I assumed we'd sold at least that many season tickets. The theory that we dropped below 10k because some people turned in their tickets for a later match only holds if we essentially zero single match tickets to this game. I thought maybe we'd pull in 12k, and held out hope we'd get more. This organization has a deep, deep hole to dig itself out of in terms of its fan base. I knew that before today. But today makes me realize the hole is deeper than I thought. Anyway, winning has to help. And we're still nowhere near as low as we were last season. I guess that something, at least.
I’m sure ownership cares, at least here. I don’t think attendance is the money-maker in soccer or you would see more effort in other low attendance cities but you don’t. This ownership group will do everything possible to increase the interest in the team and that will generate better attendance in the future. But that’s no concern of mine and never has been. The only thing embarrassing about the number of people in the stands is the people that think it matters.
SUM is the money maker in MLS but attendance is important. I thought there would be a dip just not this drastic. Hats off to Nordecke it sounded good on TV.
