Jupp is helping to stabilize the team, and hopefully will bring some fun, or better, some silverware back, while leave a good foundation for the future. But the old man has done enough for Bayern, he needs to rest at the end of the season. A new coach is needed. What is your preferred option, and who do you think will be selected?

In my opinion, while still being very good, we are no longer the dominant team in 2013-2015 period. Proper transition and team rebuilding will be needed. 2018 is a very important year for our foreseeable future. I will be patient with the new coach, lowering my usual expectation a little bit, and hopefully we will comeback as the very best European football club, like in 2020.

For that, we will need a coach with a vision, a clear philosophy, who is motivated to use young players, and commit himself to a project. At the same time he needs to be tactically astute enough to keep us perform, because transitioning doesn't mean no title for a club like Bayern. And I would rather he has a modern approach and tactical thinking. I don't mind some experiment and innovation too. It is the innovation that has been pushing us forward in this era, about anything not just football.

With that in mind, here are some choices:

    1) Julian Nangelsmann: I feel that he is still too young, too unproven at this level. He need to consistently deliver at Hoffeinhem, or even a bigger club, before being considered a Bayern's coach. It's weird to imagine Nangelsmann to tell some players who are even older than him, like Robben, Neuer how to play.

He has tremendous potential, though, and I like how his team plays, so he is a viable option in the future that we should keep in touch. Next summer will be too early for him.

    2) Massimiliano Allegri: after Ancelotti I think I'm really fed up with Italian coaches. However Allegri is a good coach, with very good tactical knowledge and flexibility. Especially I was impressed with him after our 6-4 win 2 years ago. He could be a good option.

    3) Jurgen Klopp: I like his passion, his intensity and football obsession looking. We will certainly play some good football, and have some fun with him. A good option.

    4) Jorgi Low: his reputation and credibility got a significant boost after winning the 2014 World Cup, people thought of him as a loser before that. This coach has some interesting idea, good football, and handsome. I have some doubts about his ability to manage a football club, a big one though.

    5) Luis Enrique: this guy has personality, and a good CV (both as coach and player) to back him up. He is also flexible and has some tactical sense in mind. I don't like him though, and don't think he will be successful here. Still a possible option.

    6) A gambe à la Guardiola of Barcelona in 2008. Someone like Xabi Alonso. I think the odd is slow, but on the occasion of rebuilding the team, they may spring a surprise with coach selection.

    7) Thomas Tuchel. I think this is the best choice at the moment, and this is also my prediction. I started to like him back in the old days when he managed Mainz to fight with Van Gaal's Bayern. Tactically astule, a fan of possession and positional play, is German, has strong personality, technically he is the right one to build on Bayern team. Granted, he still has much to prove, but I think he is a smaller risk than Nangelsmann at this point. He will also need to learn how to cope with Uli though.

    8) Arsene Wenger. I'm kidding.

Unless Pep becomes available im 99% sure its going to be a German coach and no it won't be Jogi Löw. Although considering that Hoeneß has brought us back to the dark ages, no replacement for the expert technical director Reschke and Sammer replaced by a clueless pawn like Salhimadzic, we can't even rule that out completely.

What we know however is that Uli Hoeneß rates Guardiola's opinion very highly and the Catalan recommended Thomas Tuchel. However considering Rummenigge and Hoeneß rarely agree, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Nagelsmann is Kalle's favourite and we get a dirty mud fight.

This is fine for me. Both Tuchel and Nangelsmann, but I see Tuchel as a safer and less risk option.

I´m hoping for Tuchel. Nagelsmann has loads of potential but has FAIL written all over him if he will sign for Bayern at this point. The guy is nowhere near proven right now.

Tuchel is obsessed in an way that Pep was as well. In Dortmund he met an board, that still have to figure out where they want their club to be, certainly didn´t match what Tuchel wanted (to win titles certainly). I could see TT working out very well with us.

Someone like Xabi would also be highly interesting, but I doubt it honestly.

I forgot Ralph Hasenhüttl in the candidate list. His Leipzig looks impressive, and he looks cool B-) what do you think?

What a shame we missed out on Tuchel, now come Kovac. This appointment doesn’t convince me at all, however I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Transition, which should have been done much earlier, must start now. The club has been trying to avoid it, instead trying to squeeze out some last drops of this squad. Probably a new and young coach will be able to do that.

And even if this gamble doesn’t pay off, he can’t do worse than Carlo Ancelotti, right?

Agreed, but I wouldn’t bet on any “Bombe Transfers”

What world class player wants to come to Bayern and play for a no-name coach?

Kovac gets Frankfurt to the final for the second consecutive time. This man must have something in him. I hope it’s enough for him to succeed with Bayern. I can’t stand watching another Klinsmann’s era.

He won't be as bad as Klinsmann. As mentioned in the other thread, a repeat of Magath is the worst we can expect and a variation of Heynckes football what we can hope for.

winning the BL is almost expected for a team like BM

being out of the CL at this early stage is not up to the standard that BM has set for itself

not saying this as a fan of either... but could José Mourinho be a good fit for BM

it might make him the only coach to win championships in the 4 big leagues

There are still very mixed reports here in Germany. KHR seems to want a new coach but Uli is protecting his boys Kovac & Brazzo.

I think Ten Hag would be an interesting fit, but also more of an experiment.

Why will Bayern need new coach? They are subscribed champions of the Bundesliga anyway. There is no competition in Germany. It is one horse racing tournament and all other teams are just spectators. Their main purpose in that league is to supply the Bavarian team with their best players for the lowest possible price and some time even for free. So even the janitor Mehmed Aga, responsible for the restrooms in Allians Arena can coach the team.
