I have to say that I'm still not impressed by the genius declared Favre. As long I have been following BVB, from the last (and bad) season of Klopp, the system is always the same - lot of possession, mostly for nothing, usually sooner or later we loose the ball... And about Tuesday's match, whay those late substitutiosions? Why not letting Gomez play for at least 30 minuttes in thas match, if not in that, when then???
I wander (and I don't know what kind of football Favre played in BMG or Nice) if this system of playing the ball is given by the board, since football is always the same. I'd like to see some more straight forward play. It is 1. better to watch, and 2. can be more effective.
Watched City vs Hoffenheim yesterday, and it was a fantastic game to watch, even if I don't care about any of them. It was about speed, something I often miss in our play.
And secondly, it also showes on performance of CFs, either it's Paco, Maxi or Götze, the system is not adapted to players, they suffer! Also the fans suffer with those tight games...
And lastly, since talking about adaptation to players, why not try with 3 CBs and Hakimi and Guereiro as wingbacks (3-4-3). That could be a combination for the future, with soon world class for all 5 of them

Some players with low or no playing time are tried on new positions. Some here had already proposed that at the start of the season when he disappointed on the wings: Wolf is tested at RB as a backup option for LP. Toljan played on the CB position.

Trying to convert Wolf into a RB, makes a lot of sense and could possibly save the club money. I have missed the warm-up games, but I would like to see this continue.

Rumors that Mislintat could be on his way out of Arsenal. The changes at Arsenal also resulted in demotions and loss of power for him. Nothing concrete about his future plans seems to be known yet. I'm wondering whether the place he once knew (us), after he got experience in a different environment, would be of interest again. But I'm not sure about the structure at the club after he left, whether he burnt some bridges and who working for us currently would lose if he came back.

German media is reporting that Bayern are vying for his signature. I would take him back in a heartbeat.

Well, the article indicates no one published these details at the time of the incident for fear of destabilized. What harm does it do now when Tuchel is gone, setting aside the veracity of the claims?

Note: the article talks about a book published by a journalist, which contains an episode about the conflict between Tuchel and Watzke/BVB. According to the book, Tuchel created deep mistrust at the time of the bus bombing by first being perfectly supportive of UEFA's decision to play the UCL Monaco match a day later, then dismissing the locker room protests of Reus, Castro, and several tearful and frightened players and even grumbling "how am I supposed to beat Bayern with these sissies", and finally complaining about the scheduling after losing to Monaco while indirectly blaming the club officials for not standing up to UEFA.

Now these are some explosive claims, we'll see the dust settle in the German media over the coming week.

I have 4 issues with this: 1) We are in the midst of a title fight and a crisis. 2) TT fans will refute, his dissenters will say that this suits him. 3) His interviews, his behaviour on the sidelines, how his players conducted themselves right till the end of the season does not betray anything remotely resembling a situation where the coach called his players Weicheier. 4) Why is Aki excluded in all of this. He went out and gave that interview saying that they had "dissens" which is typically overblown in German and understated in English.

PG should not have written that. Not at this stage. Yes, there was a good time i.e. right after TT was sacked.

Statistically, Marco Reus doesn't even crack the top 10 today. When TT was coaching us, Miki was hands down the best BL player in his first year and Dembele beat Reus in the second.

Marco Reus is an incredibly good player but he is not Mbappe level.

    LOL.

Apparently is has come out, Reus had a meeting with Tuchel to get the Monaco game rearranged after the bus bombing. It seems Reus and the players wanted the game postponed, but Tuchel wanted to play. The two had a falling out.

Daanng! How reliable is this? The story I've heard before (probably here) is that Tuchel wanted the game postponed and management refused.

Not even remotely. TT publicly said that he didn't want to play. So if he internally said he wanted the players to man up but then conveyed via the media that he wanted the match postponed, we would have known this in 2017. It would have been him against the entire club. Looks like the English media has misconstrued the info and eaglespark is drinking the coolaid.

But that is pretty much which was assumed back in 2017. Many here were shocked when Watzke made that interview right before the important Hoffenheim game. Reading between the lines of what was said and how it was said, it was strongly suspected that what Tuchel said to the media in the aftermath of the Monaco game wasn't what was agreed between him and the management. Watzke made that pretty clear in his comments. Tuchel changed his tune after we got eliminated. That is one event where I believe Watzke's account over Tuchel's. But we also agreed back then that there is no way for us to be 100% sure unless the involved people come out with clear statements and that has never really happened.

I had my doubts about TT but we've known Aki for over a decade.

So it made sense to see how the surrounding players reacted and it was quite clear that the disgruntled ones were who didn't get any min on the pitch and for good reason. The rest were fine.

We are going to have to win 8 games and at least draw against Bayern to win the league.

I missed the match yesterday, but glad to see the bad run is over.

Even that might not be enough because it's goal difference (and not head to head score) that counts in case of equal number of points...

I've been completely isolated from the rest of the world for the last five days. I previously mentioned that I live in Venezuela and if you've bothered with the news you will know the whole country went through a blackout.

It's been a traumatic experience, and you have no idea of all the food that had to be thrown away due to lack of refrigeration.

Maduro needs to go. I have seen Venezuelans soliciting for paypal and gofundme donations on Whatsapp so that they can leave the country.

Hope I can make the ND game
