I'm still mad the Fire didn't take a crack at Devin Barclay after he excelled for my Championship Manager 2001 squad.

Sam Stejskal just reported it along with Guillermo...not finalized but would is not quite done however he would be a TAM player.....my god to go from Athletico Madrid to hear, I wonder if Pauno used his magic to recruit him too. I saw he is a Left winger but also has played in the middle for his team in China? So he's our #10? If so, man I love this. Also Stejskal also confirmed what Guillermo said, we are going for that CB in Sweden. Let's freaking goooooooooooooo baby!!!

I don’t know anything about this guy, but I won’t hold his performance in China against him. That’s a huge culture shock and can affect a person. It’s not like in FIFA where a player performs to his rating no matter what teams he’s on. If he was good enough for Athletic a year ago, he’ll be good enough for the Fire today.

Still waiting on some defenders though...?

China will surely make you depressed ...

    Only 31.
He was very good for Benfica.

He's an attacking midfielder, I think he will sit Mihailovic ....

I'd rather they buy defenders...but the team has def more depth if this is true....

His value is still at like $8 million or something on the transfer market. I like the move. Now I'll really love it if they bring in another CB. I don't know much about the Sweden guy but he was on a team that was almost relegated to the 2nd division in his league....so doesn't sound promising but who knows. Again, I still think we should sign Jonathan Spector unless if he's retiring....it makes so much sense.

There he goes, bein' logical again. What have I told you about that " logic" stuff?!
Besides, he doesn't need an intrnl slot, what interest could CFSC have in him?
    Ok

  14. Last season Orlando's defense was worse than the Fire's, hence the tepid interest league wide. Other than veteran leadership I doubt Spector offers much more going ahead than Lillard.

We are also being linked to a defender who plays in Sweden. I actually think we have a shot at the playoffs. Playoffs folks! Playoffs!!

For what it's worth, Gaitan transfer is all over interweb, in Italian, French, German, etc.
Let's hope this deal closes or we'll look like incompetents on the world stage, not just MLS.

Also saw the Fire were getting Fernando Torres everywhere until he actually ended in Japan. I just don't want Gaitan going to another MLS team via a coin flip.

For what it's really worth, his Wikipedia page has been updated to say he is playing for the Chicago Fire.

I think transfermarkt , Wikipedia , and the foreign news articles are based off the Chinese "Club" tweet. But a close inspection of the account reveals it's not an official account .

Due to Chinese laws against Twitter it could still be an "inside account" just not official for legal reasons.

I'm guessing one factor slowing this down is that tomorrow is roster compliance day. The Fire may not have the ability to add him due to limited Internationsl slots. So it may be made official after the necessary moves are made ( who knows).

It's also being reported that Seattle has his discovery rights and a 50k trade has been agreed upon .

We are already two internationals over the limit, this would make us four over the limit. Who would be moved?

    Collier (For sure)
    Campos?
    Adams?
    Hasler?
    Edwards?

    Yeah, just ask Wilman Conde.

(I'm technologically challanged, and though I have the page in question in a file, I couldn't post it to save a life. Anyone...?)

And, BtW, Jokim Nillison is 6'1" in archaic measurement. FWIW.

  24. Baresi and Cannavaro were 5'9"

    Macherano is 5'8"

    Christian Dean is 6'3"
