It's good to see Hondurans finally come up from the College ranks.. There's five Hondurans currently in big D-1 programs

Jared Jarreau - University of Pitt
Henry Mashburn - University of Michigan
    Paolo Belloni - Harvard University
Enrique Facusse - University of Kentucky
Jose Facusse - Seton Hall University

New NT kits by Joma will be revealed tomorrow, I honestly wish that we would go with a blue/white hoops design.

Anything is better than the last few kits.

What really needs changing is the badge though, it's so amateurish and juvenile.

But onto more important matters, our defence going into the next qualifiers.

Emilio is probably still okay for a Central American level but he's way passed it at a European level. He was at fault for both goals against Valencia in the Europa league and he was given a way critical fouls against tough opposition in previous years. All in all I think he still has a role to play given his experience and pedigree.

How good is Henry Figueroa, is he the linchpin to build our defence around? Aside from Maynor, I believe he is currently our most capped CB but from what I've seen I just don't think he's good enough, he seems be quite last ditch in his style and again gives away too many fouls in my opinion.

I quite like Jonathan Paz and if he's getting playing time at Olimpia then I feel he's the man to lead from the back.

Jonathan Paz? Yikes.. I can tell you haven't watched our league on a consistent basis. Paz is probably an Olimpia version of Henry Figueroa except he plays even more stupid and reckless. He has all the skill in the world but watching him man that defense for Olimpia is absolutely nerve inducing.. Dude just isn't a reliable CB atm.. I don't think he's a CB period and I think Keossian has moved him all around the field already cuz of that. He went from a central CB to a wide CB in a 3 man line to a 2nd DM to even right back.. Paz needs to be more consistent before we mention him for the NT.

Henry Figueroa just got moved to RB at Alajuelense and it panned out.. Problem is we're already full at that position.. To the point that I nominate Beckeles to do what Maynor did and just make the switch to Center back. He's not getting younger and his skill set would make him our backbone there. I still like Henry, but he's so skinny and he's reckless too but he delivers more than the likes of Paz, plus he's more flexible in coverage..

If I was looking to refill the NT cupboard with Centerbacks I think Johnny Leveron and Allans Vargas are your guys. They've been consistent for a while now and know what it means to win.

I would say Marcelo Pereira but he's seemingly disappeared in the Motagua shuffle.. Raul Santos.. Denil Maldonado.. And Juan Pablo Montes have played a lot more than he has this past Apertura and this Clausura. So Idk wtf is going on there.

Names to watch for is Getsel Montes who regained his position under ex-coach Tato Garcia(the Uruguayan) and now "new" coach, Carlos Restrepo.

And Denil Maldonado.. Granted I think he's awfully too young, but he's a bonafide starter for a Championship team and looks/plays much older than what his age indicates. You can't deny this kid if he manages to have a strong Olympic campaign.

as far as left back.. There's a solid three viable options..

Mango Sanchez who seems eternally benched by Omar Elvir en Motagua..

Brayan Garcia of Real España whose having yet again another solid season

Elmer Guity of Olimpia whose been playing out his mind for the past two seasons.

If Wesly Decas ends up panning out the way we want him to then we can breathe easy.

They are not the same team that won that Championship, I never expected them to do good in this tourney either. Out of our “Big 4” they have the least funds to reinforce their team.

Yeah I know that we got thrashed last time but how will we improve if we decline friendlies with good teams? Haiti pulled off a 3-3 draw vs Japan in Kirin Cup 2017, meanwhile our cheap ass federation will be satisfied with friendly matches with Nicaragua, Belize and Cuba.

Uh no. Sometimes the logistics simply isn't worth it. Playing Japan in Japan off two days of jetlag simply isn't conducive to anyone especially Honduras. I get the quality of opponent would probably benefit us, but I think feds already scheduled some tough opponents. We got Ecuador next month which I don't mind.

On top of that we can't play the likes of Cuba or other minnows in the region cuz they're in CNL. Relax bud

No MLS team will even pay half of that for a Defender of his caliber let alone a young one from a CA league.
