Acosta to PSG has fallen through because DC wanted a $10 million fee, and PSG wouldn’t go higher than $8 million. How pissed is Acosta? Could’ve been at PSG, now has to come back to MLS.
And on Giovinco, Extra Time Radio podcast just said he’ll be making $10 million per season. Yeah... move to Al Hilal totally wasn’t about money...
The Fire must be some massively dysfunctional organization right now. Just read that their homegrown player, Gutman, signed with Celtic and had his loan to Nashville in USL cancelled by MLS. That just seems petty.
Agreed, though MLS didn’t cancel it TBF. Nashville’s statement said MLS disapproved of it, as Chicago holds Gutman’s HG rights. Nashville will be in MLS next year, though this year they aren’t, but they are playing by MLS rules now. Cincy did it last year as well when signing Adi and Alashe. It’s definitely odd, and typical MLS rule tomfoolery, but at least they are being consistent. Also, is the Scottish league so shit that loaning players to a team in USL that barely scrapped into the playoffs as the #8 seed, and plays absolutely woeful bunker and counter tactics, a good idea? No one else in USL will take Gutman? No one else needs an attacking left back with good passing skills in USL? Find that hard to believe.
Cancel was my shorthand for all the disapproval stuff MLS actually did. I think these actions make the league look consistently small and petty. And I wonder if Gutman is ok with MLS but not playing with the Fire.
Chicago, for some reason, has no interest in Gutman, and it seems the feeling is mutual. I'm sure he's annoyed, since he's trying to move to Europe in the first place. He's kinda fvcked though, since he can't get a work permit it seems.
i don't get the impression any of what you said is accurate based on what i've read about his options and the way celtic handle their business. there's a thread about it in the YA section: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/andrew-gutman-on-trial-with-rangers-fc.2091579/
So the Union owners are trying to one up PSV in how they're treating their fans. They ran contest for designing their new jersey. They took all the submissions, ignored them and went with a plain white t-shirt. Then they put out a release video trashing all of the submissions with tired internet memes: 1092534046868021249 is not a valid tweet id Wow.
Yeah, they don’t sound please. Sugarman and Hauptman are both singlehandedly killing Philly and Chicago. Precourt tried to be part of that crowd, he even failed at that too lol.
https://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/20...e-trying-to-force-a-trade-to-columbus-crew-sc Nagbe to Columbus? @Ch(Elsey)??
Timo pointed that article out to me earlier today. He said that Caleb is rounding up his troops. Tim continued on to proclaim Caleb was taking us to a Cup next year. .... We really like Porter in the Elsey household.
From a Crew perspective what would you offer to unite the two? Appears Nagbe has 2 years on his contract and made $620K last season in Atlanta. The stripes burned $1.65M in xAM to get him out of Portland.
