740 million is the population within the geographical boundaries of Europe. The 2018 competition included Australia, the non-European parts of Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Spain, Holland and France, plus Israel. That takes it to well over 800 million
One of my all-time favorite bloggers wrote a piece recently detailing the "Fricker Plan" going through the following stages: (Thesis) multi-division pro/rel set-up, (antithesis) absolutely no interest whatsoever from any investor anywhere, (synthesis) first division 8-12. All this before Fricker was bounced from office. The single entity model had to wait until Rothenberg, but pro/rel had been dead before he was elected. No professional American sports league will ever promote and relegate. EDIT - I think Stoke is your new oldest club in the world if Notts County goes nipples-north. EDIT EDIT - pro club. EDIT EDIT EDIT - professional association football club. EDITx4 - you probably figured that out before Edit #2, though
I think you'll find the UPSL (not to be confused with USPL or USPS) southern Californian edition already does The argument goes that Stoke are a phoenix club having gone bankrupt in 1907 and not rejoined the league until 1919.
Yup, we were the only ones in modern times to invade the UK and beat the crap out of them....and the added Ireland to it. So us and ze Jermans is scary. What if we joined our national teams
Oh really? Have you seen this? https://www.superyachtfan.com/superyacht_eclipse.html Oh and how about Arsenal's majority shareholder? https://www.superyachtfan.com/yacht-jubilee.html Who btw also owns multiple American Professional Teams as well........... How about Malcolm Glazer's yacht? Tampa Bay Bucs (NFL) & Man Utd.....
a. The 400s are "modern times"? b. The French Norsemen were the last people to successfully invade England, in 1066.
Aren't most of those European countries When I did a quick look up for the Euro pop I saw that there were outside countries included but also that non every Euro country participated so left it as the gen pop.
True players could do that but to win a cheesy corner you'd have to get the ball down near the opponents goal in the first place. Maybe it does mean that an isolated attacker tries to win a corner instead of blasting it from 30 yards, but that's not necessarily a negative, IMHO.
Sorry, you need to reread your history books, or it could be they swept it under the carpet. First we gave a warning to stop mocking around by raiding Chatham ( we captured warships) Chatham by Michiel de Ruyter in 1667. So no 400 my friend. Battle of Medway - The History - Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust https://thedockyard.co.uk/plan-your-visit/.../battle-medway-history... Vertaal deze pagina Sometimes called the Battle of the Medway, The Dutch Raid or the Battle of Chatham, it was a successful and daring attack conducted by the Dutch fleet, ... AS the English didnot listen we invaded again 21 years later "With a Dutch army, William landed at Brixham in southwest England on 5 November 1688.[72] He came ashore from the ship Brill, proclaiming "the liberties of England and the Protestant religion I will maintain". William's fleet was vastly larger than the Spanish Armada 100 years earlier: approximately 250 carrier ships and 60 fishing boats carried 35,000 men, including 11,000-foot and 4,000 horse soldiers.[73] James's support began to dissolve almost immediately upon William's arrival" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_III_of_England#Invasion_of_England The memories of that still are present today in the NI Orange Orders as William defeated the Catholics decsively in Northern Ireland. Recently the UK got on loan the Stern of their warship Royal Charles we captured in the Medway raid.
A fleet larger than the Spanish Armada came knocking and the English only talk about the Armada. Maybe because that one you did beat.
Maybe your owner isn't the brightest spark? "The first one wished him a merry Christmas and the other said he had ruined the club, although one of the screenshots appears to show the businessman’s picture gallery from his phone, which featured a picture of his penis." https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...pologises-for-posting-intimate-picture-online
He's a successful local businessman. He challenged a speeding ticket for doing 77 mph in a 40 mph zone by arguing that he's a very busy businessman and couldn't get to all his meetings on time without speeding.
It's so mean. Investors loose money after Feyenoord trashed Ajax 6-2. The stock dropped from a high of 16.65 €€ 5% to 15.65 to end monday with a 1.2% loss at 16.25. It's so mean that investors lose money just because a couple of players were lousy in one match or the opponent was far too good.
Oh joy. Gloating about people killing each other over slightly different religious beliefs. What relevance does this have to soccer, the US or pro/rel?
If the opponent is far too good ... what are they doing on the field with them in the first place? I also love Pochettino's wet blanket of reality on everyone's fire of fun.
We've already been told that some countries have better transit systems because of pro/rel so, maybe there's a case to be made. Tottenham's injury bug illustrates a good point. Spurs lost Kane, Sissoko, Dele Alli, Davies and Son. Now they went from EPL title contenders to hoping to maybe finish top 6 if the injury problems persist. None of this was the fault of ownership, management or players. It was sheer dumb luck. The good news is that because Tottenham is rich and was able to buy enough good players, they won't have to worry about falling completely out of the top flight and at most, this might ruin their UCL chances. They also have enough cash to go buy a few players to make up for their losses too. What if this happened to Palace or Southampton? Would they be able to recover? Would it be fair for them to lose out on the top flight because of sheer dumb luck? I'm not suggesting EPL drop pro/rel but I sure am glad that we don't have it in the US for this reason and a plethora of others.
