Didn’t forget Cucho he is having a bad season along with Muriel. Duvan was too till last month I don’t watch the Scottish league but 20 goals halfway through is insanity. No one is we have is putting numbers anywhere near it Looks like Duvan finally going to score more then 10 haha
Cucho is not having a bad season per se. More like he is playing on a bad team that is playing in the Primera for the first time ever. After what he showed in his debut I don't think he will be left off the Seleccion list in March. The new Manager would be criticized big time for a move like that. Unless the Federation just wants Cucho to focus on the Sub20 or something but I doubt it.
Muriel will change team in january.....roma fiorentina or milan. i think that he always make something to being an option again
true, but honestly i expected more from cucho in this season (taking account his season in serie b).........similar sensation when he was a crack in pereira in second division, then in america couldnt excel Im not talking about his numbers....in some matches he have not played well.
Still a bit extreme to say he is having a bad season in my book when it is his first time in the Primera. He is playing like a teenager on a bad team. And the main point is what he showed against Costa Rica showed me enough that he will be called in March unless something is up with the Fed or the new tactician just does not like what he saw on film.
yeah is true.......but my highs are hopes towards him.......i want that he do more despite adveristy...........in some matches he have been subbed off soon or bign benched at the beginning....
It is a long season. As we see with Borre and Duvan all it takes is a hot streak and you look like a world class player.
Back to Morelos before I make this into a Cucho thread. He seems to be so comfortable in Scotland. Some even saying he is the best forward in the league. Gotta give him props.
Scotland is not a very strong league, he's doing just about everything he should which is great. Would like to see him move to a better league in the summer, think if he wants to cement himself in the NT he'll need to make a step up, its going to be hard for him to progress in Scotland.
Not a strong league but he's playing in top 3. Also, the SPL hardens you up quickly. No time for cute plays as they are all around tacklers. Bottomline is we have a gem in Morelos. He played in one of the top clubs in Finland and killed it. Liked destroyed the stats. Picked up for 'cheap' at Rangers and even with a transition year, had solid play his 1st years despite chaos in management. Gerrard took on and the team has gone up a notch. Gerrard is well connected and Morelos is a golden goose for Rangers. They'll keep him thru winter, win the league, get a spot in Champions and sell him for $15-$20MM which is a killing for an SPL player (and highest paid for a Rangers player).
Rangers lost yesterday. They played with two strikers, Morelos & Jermaine Defoe. Not a good idea bringing Defoe to the team, Morelos had more freedom when playing as a lone striker. Now they have one less midfielder and Morelos has to stay away from Defoes way all the time.
Defoe will be 37 this year. With all the Scottish cups and league play it's not a bad bet considering the physicality of the league and risk of injury. He may take away from Morelos on the frontline but Morelos has also never had anyone like a Defoe to help him elevate his game and show him a thing or two. I think Morelos will run into competition wherever he goes and I don't see this being a bad thing. The club recognizes that he's their golden egg and will be their record transfer this summer.
On the long term it could be a good thing to play alongside Defoe. But I would like to have seen how many goals Morelos can score this season. If Defoe is willing to be benched sometimes then I see no problem. But if not this two striker tactic could cost Rangers the league title. Many coaches don't like winter tranfer windows because there is no time to adjust new players into the team.
https://www.rangersnews.uk/news/the...?utm_medium=notification&utm_source=onesignal The Alfredo Morelos dilemma in the absence of a Rangers title race 24th January 2019 Cameron Willis The answer to the Alfredo Morelos dilemma could become very clear over the course of the next week. It’s one which has split Rangers supporters since Chinese clubs made bids for the forward last January. There are few Rangers fans who think Morelos will stay at Ibrox long term. Everyone understands it’s a question of when rather than if for the Colombian. But could his exit be sooner than we think? Alfredo Morelos is Rangers top scorer this season with 20 goals. (photo by Alan Rennie/Action Plus via Getty Images) Sell our star striker and we could rake in a transfer fee which could well revolutionise the background of the club. The price Rangers want the bidding to start at would be a club record fee for transfers received. Even if Nice are reportedly set to post an offer much lower than that. That said, the general feeling is that if we let him go now, we can pretty much kiss goodbye to any semblance of a title race this season. But if Rangers cannot realistically mount a title challenge to Celtic, is it more damaging to the club to retain the player’s services? Alfredo Morelos could be faced with tough decision How can the club also expect to retain the services of its key players if it cannot challenge for silverware? That’s how bad last night’s performance was. The players were asked to stand up and flopped, and not for the first time this season. Alfredo Morelos will be considering his options in the wake of the Kilmarnock defeat. He must be looking at the players around him, that change in formation and the ripple effect into the fans. The striker has become a full Colombia international whilst at Rangers. (Photo by Joel Auerbach/Getty Images) Whilst we’re not completely out of the running yet, we need a huge result against Livingston on Sunday. Drop points there and the Colombian striker’s head will surely be turned. And can you blame him? What does he have to stay for if we can’t keep our promise to challenge for silverware? If a new signing is being prioritised over him? If we’re out of the Scottish Premiership running come Sunday, the Alfredo Morelos dilemma might not be a dilemma at all. At least not for the striker.
8 million is a good fee and that’s a great article just would prefer he stay in Scotland till an epl team comes after him
normally, maybe. But he's a striker at a very young age on the up and up. Two years in the SPL scoring some great goals (and some incredible misses) along with playing in Europa has given him plenty of audience...8 mil for a player that comes only thru your club in so many moons? Gerrard recognizes he can get a lot better and for EPL money, 8 mil is peanuts for a striker. He's not heading to Chelsea but easily would fit a mid table team like Everton like a glove.
This kid could hose the national team with one of these plays.. 3 red cards this season Morelos:-Kicks brown in the goolies-Stands studs down on Ralston's back -Grabs Christie in the gooliesCommited 4 fouls in open play aswell.Beaton done his hardest to not book him and succeeded. Hunbelievable. pic.twitter.com/PAE3XI72EF— ᴘʙ 🍀 (@p_bov1) December 29, 2018
^^ this the SPL is more physical "garra" than technique. What these short clips don't show is the countless tackles that Morelos gets from defenders. He's targeted constantly and I recall last year some down and dirty tackles against him that would barely get yellows. He's learned that in order to play with these boys he's got to up the physical. Along with Morelos, several other Rangers playing get RC/YC a lot. Gerrard has addressed it's an issue but not solely Morelos.
