Honestly, I don't mind his tactics or overall strategy. I'm just tried of his player selections and him being a pussy (possibility rooted in his personality).
I honestly think that STY can succeed if he just loses his little ego and went somewhere to actually learn to become a tactician. One thing I found interesting was that looking back on player interviews during the STY era, he really had charge of the lockerroom, unlike many of his predecessors.
shin taeyong has a good feel for the game. his biggest flaw seems to be that his coaching training was done in a third world footballing nation. to be able to translate your ideas onto the pitch you need to be able to know what drills to run what messages you need to emphasize to your players how to condition your team during a 7/14/30 day cycle etc. these were clearly missing during his training
i doubt uefa license would do anything for him. he needs to go somewhere he can get hands on experience at top level football. the thing is even if hes willing to take on a much lesser role (i am betting that hed die for the opportunity) i doubt any club is willing to provide the opportunity. to the eyes of the organization hed be like an overqualified old guard applying for starting positions made available to interns, recent graduates, etc
After having lost my temper, I will give the benefit of the doubt to Bento (He wasn't helped by his players, though). Let's see how he'll react for the quarter final. I would not be surprised if he lined up again LY considering the latter was directly involved in the two goals. But a defeat would be hard to accept, tbh.
I can see a China league club paying money for him (STY) to coach their team like they did with Hong Myung Bo and Stielike.
Bento disappointed with the players. https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20190123000600315?section=sports/sports
Kim Pan Gon should admit his mistake and fire Bento and his minions. Oh and he should just move in to Paju National Football Center and use the office that was supposedly refurbished for Bento and co. I heard Julen Lopetegui is unemployed.
I initially repped your post, but I rescinded. Why? Because a question crossed my mind. Would Bento have beaten Germany in group stages of world cup?
bento had all of the wrong ideas from the very beginning and wasnt going to be told otherwise. koreans dont outskill their opponents in asia. they get results from outrunning and outstrengthening their opposition. if he doesnt realize the mistakes hes made in preparation for the tournament (namely player selections and choice of football played) it will lead to a very rough world cup cycle for korea. he can say all the right things to the press but in his head place blame on other shit like injuries, son heungmin being late, etc hes just not going to last until the world cup
shin taeyong patched up a lot of shit senilieke was doing wrong. he got rid of the immobile players and brought in youth and pace to the side. he switched the team into a two forward system and had a lot of players rush inside the box during attacks. he introduced directness to the side that had been missing since senileike took over. all bento had to do was continue the process but nope he brings back ji dongwon
Hence why I used the greater than or equal to sign. Btw, Stielike managed to get us to the final of the previous edition of Asian Cup. Arguably with even shittier roster. Looks like we found the sock accounts of Paulo Bento's assistants.
it has been reported that senielike lost the locker room as early as the 2015 asian cup. players saw his limitations and no longer had any belief in him. lets see how long bentos bond with his players lasts
