I remember us playing Philadelphia and they were wearing dark uniforms. We were in blue, yellow and red stripes. I found myself rooting for the wrong team!
Agreed. For as much flack as the shirt gets, I still see it being worn quite a bit. With that said, I would have made just a few minor tweaks and called it a good third jersey. Afterall, isn't the third jersey the one where the freedoms are supposed to be taken?
I agree with this overall. Yellow shorts and calling it a THIRD jersey fixes that kit. Powder Blue shorts and making it our primary jersey makes it the tropical skittles kit we all know and hate.
So, for the powder blue haters out there... Is there a better color of the shorts? I don't think yellow would work. Nor black. Maybe red, but it would be not good, too.
I would be surprised if Adidas couldn't pull off a run of 1000 or so custom shirts in 30 days. Not sure they will would need more than that for a release. And who said that they only had 40 days. We knew about the new owners in October.
Incredible to see the @ColumbusCrewSC back in training today. Great to see @JustinMeram too...who showed some serious love to @Save_The_Crew and #Columbus. #Crew96 #SavetheCrew pic.twitter.com/31MZoOcSLG— Brett Hiltbrand (@brett_hiltbrand) January 23, 2019 The tongue-bathing will continue until morale improves.
How goes the wedding planning? I hope he spent the off-season getting his head on straight. Missing some of those sitters is the stuff of nightmares.
So if you're showing Mrs. Haslam around your stadium and facilities, is that taking a Dee Tour? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I kill myself.
As we await further details on the stadium project, a few thoughts/observations: The architect who presented at Land Grant is Gerardo Prado: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gerardo-prado-a1aa1a10/ VP and Sports Practice Leader at HNTB, which we assume is the design architect for our stadium. HNTB is a huge company, but they (and Prado) are based in Kansas City. They do a lot more than architecture: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HNTB http://www.hntb.com/expertise They didn't do KC's or Minnesota's stadiums (they were done by these guys), but they do have a lot of experience in stadium construction. Looks as though they'll design Sacramento's stadium, if they get into MLS. But HNTB does also possess a ton of other expertise (see the above link) - construction management, design build, transportation systems, bridges - that might be useful in our project. Plus, there's also the Mapfre re-development project to consider (they've designed/built several training facilities for big college athletics programs). There two Ohio offices are in Cleveland and Columbus. In fact, they built a new computerized system and traffic management center here.
Did the City of Akron do a piss-poor job of getting the roads ready to be drivable for Tuesday morning, 36 hours after the snow had ceased and while all surrounding localities managed to get the roads ready?
I was at a regional futsal tournament in Akron over the weekend. Prior to the tournament officials assured us that the event would not be cancelled under any circumstances because Akron is accustomed to dealing with snow and everything will be cleared for the event. Hubris. Spoiler alert:. The roads were not clear and the event parking lot was a mess.
Growing up in Rochester, it took a hell of a storm to close the schools. Two feet overnight was nothing. By dawn not only were the roads plowed - even secondary, neighborhood streets - but the sidewalks were plowed as well. The key of course is equipment and manpower. They had acres of snow plows and an army of drivers just waiting for the word to go. But thats not something most municipalities are willing to pay for. Nor, in truth, should they.
