Also looks like Lumor is set to join Goztepe in Turkey on loan with an option to buy for 2.5M euros for 50% of his rights (the same fee we paid for him)
It wasn't our highest transfer ever, but in my view it was one of our best ever sales, 14M for a flop that can't defend and has obvious issues in his private life.
Cristian Borja, LB from Mexican side Toluca, is flying to Lisbon for a medical ahead of a move to SCP. The player confirmed his move to SCP via a press conference and Toluca wished the player all the best. He's 25 years old from Colombia. With the rumours of Acuna going to Zenit, Borja could be his replacement. Don't really know the player, but he was considered the best signing of the Clausura in 2018, so hopefully he brings that form to us... we need it. Hopefully we also explore the Mexican market more, our rivals have had plenty of success signing players from there.
Italy press is saying that Inter Milan wants Cedric Soares from Southampton, and is willing to pay 20M euros for him. This interests us as we hold a percentage of any future transfer and if this went through, we could get 2.25m euros for him.

Cristian Borja has been confirmed as a loan from a Mexican club. It's somehow a peculiar pick. Bringing in players from the mexican league is always sort of gamble, but the risks are contained since it's only a loan. I'd still prefer to local players though.

Haven't seen any official announcement yet but I'm not surprised it's a loan, we still have to pay part of Acuna and Raphinha's transfer otherwise our participation in European competitions next season could be at risk. It's why a 20M sale of Acuna would be crucial. Mixed feelings. I don't forget the words he said about being willing to not play for 2 years instead of sign a new contract with SCP. Hopefully he's eaten some humble pie. From what I remember he's very quick and comfortable with the ball at his feet, which may be why he could fit in Keizer's system. But that fee is high. I wouldn't be surprised if this one also turned out to be a loan with option to buy.
2.5mil is nothing these days. He's the Yannick Djalo of CB's, very athletic and doesn't offer much else. Considering our entire defense is slow as shit, it could be an interesting signing.
Yeah Ilori is gonna have to really prove himself. Demiral, who is loaned to a turkish club and has a sell-on clause of 3.5M is reportedly set be sold and then re-sold for 7M to Sassuolo, but apparently Juve is interested in him too. Unbelievably bad deal here by Cintra.
Fredy Montero posted a picture with Acuna with a message which appears to be a sending off. Transfer window closes shut on Thursday so we should have some confirmation very soon. Multiple sources say we're very close to signing Gonzalo Plata, an 18 year old Ecuadorian forward who has been shining in the U20 South American tournament. We apparently have one of our scouts at the competition watching players and Plata has been one of the brightest from a very promising Ecuador generation emerging. Barcelona and Manchester City have apparently been following the player as well. He would likely join our U23 team to start.
To add to the above, Plata player himself confirmed he's coming and there's a picture of him with one of our lawyers signing a contract. He confirmed he had an offer from Barcelona but he said he wanted to play for the first team and SCP offered him the chance to do that.
Ilori confirmed. Hopefully his concentration and focus has improved, but I'm actually excited to see him play.
