So that whole "no-activity summer window" gamble really looking like it's not going to pay off for Spurs...
The Channel Islands is a funky airspace to fly around. Had one of my biggest white knuckle memories there - engine failure on a small prop job shortly after take-off for Paris from Guernsey.
And Ronaldo does a Ronaldo: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-plane-selfie-wake-Emiliano-Sala-tragedy.html
LMAO at Neymar. what a showboating fecking tw@t he is. he did a "rainbow flick" to get the ball past a Strasbourg defender, then a few moments later he pulls up injured and leaves the pitch in - guess what? - tears !!!. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA love it.
er, Van Persie, Sneidjer, Kuyt, Van Der Vaart, Robben ......... you get to 50 caps among that lot and there's no argument but that you are good......
God almighty (hmmmm... perhaps under the circumstances I shouldn't be referencing God.....) anyway - flippancy aside - either Ronaldo was aware of the missing footballer on the missing plane, or (most likely, I'd guess) he wasn't. Which then makes Lineker and everyone else talking about this nonsense just rather silly........... However, since these days everyone seems to be trending towards being to some extent "rather silly", let me just say my normal spiel: "DEATH TO TWITTER!!" goddam rubbish.....
Not competing with most of those guys for minutes. He mostly played on the left for the Dutch, where none of those guys played when at their best... he was a backup striker for when first-choice guys were injured, and frankly a fair amount of his caps are sub appearances, which speaks more about his versatility, longevity, and the fact that he broke through quite young, than his overall skill or ability IMO. But when the Dutch were good or healthy, like in World Cup 2010, Babel didn't play. Anyways, I don't hate him -- he's a not-great player that was versatile and pacey enough to get a number of caps for them (and LFC, I might add) during a fairly unsuccessful period of theirs, often due to injury and depth issues. Either way, "Ryan Babel sucks" isn't the hill I'm going to die on. I'm just saying the context is important.
Quite a second-leg Caribou Cup match between Spuds and Chel$ki going on... 2-2 on aggregate, four yellow cards (all for Chel$), some nasty challenges, and a pretty open game...up and down and back... If it ends a draw, there is no extra time, no away goals, it goes straight to penalties...
Spuds x x o o Chel$ki x x x x Dier skies over the bar... Moura kick is saved...(nicely by Agripullalalalla) Luiz scores to win it...
Old Plastic v. New Plastic - and both sets of "supporters" will be singing about Liverpool during a Cup Final!
What is the point of playing 180 minutes of football only to go straight to penalties? No away goals rule either. If you’re afraid of wearing the players out with extra time, why have a 2 leg semi final in the first place? Going straight to penalties makes it feel like a friendly.
Is it recyclable ? Christ I'm glad we are well out of that..... This is hard to explain, but I would rather finish 2nd in the Prem and lose the CL Final and not win the Carling Cup than finish 2nd in the Prem and lose the CL Final and win the Carling Cup.... Call me crazy, (Sam usually does!) but there you go ....
